Fishing Rods and Gaia Avatar system 2.0 have been released Fishing Rods There was a glitch earlier tonight that allowed some of the fishing rods for the upcomming Gaia Fishing game to be seen in people's inventories. They were not seen from another members inventory, just randomly appeared for no reason. They are now gone. Read more on Gaia Fishing Avatar system 2.0 The new look for avatars is here! New Issues GGN glitches (Oct27) Captain: It is not possible to make a member the captain of a guild, even when creating a guild. This will be looked in to as soon as able. Members can become captain of a guild with the help of any moderator. Avatars: The GGN is lagged and not showing updated avatars when you change clothes/pose. |

This will eliminate (over time) the need to rely on your email to deliver you a password when you try and update your email. Here are the functional changes: - First time you log in, you will need to answer your security questions - Forgot password will now use these questions to authenticate you (along with username and email) - Changing email will not automatically deactivate you. However, your new email will not take effect until you confirm it. - Remember your secret questions... you only get to enter them once. Gaia Online cannot retrieve what you enter for these answers. -- Jakobo |

There is no fix for this. Lag is back! (17Oct2004) With so many people trying the new things, the site is going a bit slow. Please give pages plenty of time to load. archived 2. Site Wide Issues "Autosend" PM's An "Autosend" PM is an automated message from Gaia. Examples are the PM from admin when something is sold in the marketplace, or the automatic message that comes when a moderator moves a thread. These messages from Gaia cause your PM's to behave odd. Symptoms are seeing the PM bubble, but when going to your Inbox, nothing shows. Occasionally will cause forums to act odd also. Profile Page(s) Unable to be Opened Sept 18: Fixed by devloper Currently, attempting to access a user's profile (including your own) generates an error. The cause of this is currently unknown. However, until it is fixed, several users will be unable to view profiles or the profiles of other users on Gaia. DAO_gaiastatus_update and DAO_gaiacharacter_update These seem to be caused by an error in the Gaia code. It occurs at random, though. The current fix is to simply refresh, and it will solve itself. In the case of the first one, it is an error when updating your status (who's online box at the bottom of the forum index) and so nothing happens at all. In the case of the second, it has occured during trades. Users who experience this simply need to either restart the trade, or refresh the screen that they were at. Neither of these glitches are causing lost items at this time. |

Archived 3. Forum Issues Unable to Edit First Post Update: This should not be affecting any newly created threads. Older threads are still in the process of being resolved. Thread editing glitch In a thread spanning multiple pages, the owner of the first post is unable to edit their topic title. This results in the inability to change to poll, along with other problems. There is no ETA on resolution of this item. |

Archived 4. Guild Issues Unable to edit posts in Guilds Update Aug/21/2004: Problem should be fixed. If it still has issues, PM Jakobo. Update Aug/17/2004: Occurs in the first post of threads with polls. Update Aug/11/2004: The cause of this is unknown. It should be slowly on its way to resolution. New posts in the GGN are not visible Update Oct/19/2004: Should be working now. Fixed by dev. New posts in the GGN are not able to be viewed, though the reply count, and last post count are being updated. |

Archived 5. Inventory / Item / Event Issues Cannot save Changes Oct 19, 2004: Appears to be fixed about when Journals went live. Aug 29, 2004: After clicking on Save Changes, it takes you to a blank page. Switching the servers or altering the url does not help. sad Update Aug/11/2004: This problem seems to be occuring with large volumes of users accessing the inventory page at the same time. Users have reported accessing the server on off-peak hours has been helpful in solving this problem. When on the inventory page, you are able to preview items on your character but Save Changes times out, and doesnt save the changes. Cannot get in to Inventory/Profile page, cannot delete Character Update Sep/21/2004: Delete Character is working properly again Update Aug/21/2004: The profile servers should be a bit more stable by now, so the number of people who can't access the profile page / delete their character should be reduced. If you are unable to access your profile page, wait a few minutes, and try again. The servers that work for the Inventory page ( ruby, reinhart and dale) aren't always working. Occasionly you cannot get to your inventory page and sometimes Save Changes doesnt go through. Delete Character, however, seems not to be functioning at all. There is no fix at this time. |

Jakobo 7. Exchange Issues Giftwraped items After you wrap something in the stores, the box is unable to be opened. Pelase do not wrap anything until this is fixed (just because it cant be opened). Salon/Stores Not Working Update Oct/19/2004: We are waiting to see if this problem resurfaces. Many people are experiencing problems buying from the stores and salon. There have been reports of gold being taken without the item/hairstyle appearing, so please be aware and use at your own risk. |
