UPDATE
  • Database failure/Features down Feb 12
    Due to a database server failure (link), a large number of Gaia's features are down.
    Feb 13: Should all be fixed now.
    1pm: Avatar saving is working now. ^^
    4pm: PMs are working again, along with report stuff.
    These include:
    - Saving avatars
    - Accessing PMs/Mail
    - "Find your own posts"/"Find your latest topics" (Previous history was lost, but new history seems to work fine.)
    - possibly others.

    Currently, there are no known workarounds. The admins are working on them.

  • Thumbnail Errors Feb 9
    Feb 13: Should be fixed now.
    Many people are reporting that their sealed letters or some other various items in their inventory are showing up with the image of a male tan peasants top instead of the correct image. The correct item name and description should still show up upon mouseover, even at the bank, or in the drop down list at the marketplace. This is being worked on.

  • Bank Errors Feb 9
    Feb 13: Previous error seems fixed, but people are reporting items eaten when changing genders in their profile, trades not completing and items disappearing etc. Again... we REALLY recommend that no one use the bank right now.
    Feb 12: Confirming trades seems to be impossible at the moment. Everyone gets this error message: "Error transfering items from trade window to user, refresh trade window and try again" No fixes. Just wait it out.
    Some people have reported their entire inventories disappearing subsequent to using the bank and completing a trade. Cause of the error is not known at this time. We highly recommend that you do NOT use the bank right now.

    Update Feb 10: While most users have been trading without losing items, we want to emphasize that it is still UNKNOWN what caused at least two people to lose their inventories -- therefore, you are using the bank at your own risk.

    For the people who are ignoring the risk and using the bank anyways, there seem to be several other types of errors occurring. If you're getting an error message of some sort while trading, please post here: Trade Errors: Misc. (Post Here to Debug!) Feb 12: Temporarily locked the thread till the latest error affecting everyone has been fixed. Seems to be fixed now, so the thread is open again.

    Gold does not get transferred when trading Feb 13
    Some users are reporting that trades with items on one side and gold on the other, the item is transferred but the gold is not.
    Random Items disappearing Feb 13
    Some users are reporting random items disappearing from their inventory. It?s not clear whether this is directly related to the bank or not.
    Trading Pass Difficulties Feb 13
    Some users are also reporting issues with trading passes where the bank shows them the option to buy a trading pass, yet tells them they already have one, and won?t allow them to trade saying they need a trading pass.

    Inventory Decimation Feb 9
    Some people have reported their entire inventories disappearing subsequent to using the bank and completing a trade. Cause of the error is not known at this time. If you experience this error, please report it in this thread: Trade Errors: Misc. (Post Here to Debug!) or PM a moderator directly so we can help you.

    Edit or Cancel Error Jan 29
    Users are getting an error message saying, "This trade had been confirmed by you. You can only edit or cancel this trade. Click here to view your trade with XXX" After clicking, it takes them to a blank page and the trade does not complete.
    If you received this message, please do not panic. The items have NOT been lost. The trades are simply not being completed. (This is now only experienced by a small group of users.)

    Occasional/Sporadic Errors
    Commands do not Execute (Refresh, refresh) Jan 23
    For weeks now, the Bank has not been accepting information on the first try. Buying a trading or vending pass may need to be attempted several times before the purchase goes through. Adding gold or items will take 2 or more tries for it to take for some members. The same with sending a trade, many members need to add their password more than once before the trade will get sent.

    Workaround: Starting a trade
    When looking at a member's Profile, or if they are on your friend's list, clicking the User Image button will take you directly to the trade page with them on the first try.

    General Error: Error transfering items from trade window. Feb 12
    Confirming trades seems to be impossible at the moment. Everyone gets this error message: "Error transfering items from trade window to user, refresh trade window and try again" UPDATE Feb 13: This should be fixed now. See announcement in the announcements forum.

    Trade Window is Empty Feb 10
    Users unable to start/confirm/edit trades and get the error message: 'Your trade window is empty. You cannot start a trade with an empty trade window. Click here to try again.' UPDATE Feb 11: This should be fixed now.

    Items cannot be added to trades Feb 1st
    Many users are experiencing difficulty with adding items to their trades at the bank. Items either refuse to be added, or show up as a red X and the trade does not complete properly. This is being worked on.     The site is lagging a bit at the moment. This is causing various problems... aside from the usual pages being slow to load and more frequent showings of the 'archiving' message, the PM database 'Rice' also seems to be having trouble, making it difficult to get into PM's. It's not 'down' though, you can get in if you keep refreshing. Additionally, items bought/traded/etc... from stores, marketplace, or the bank, might take a while to show up in your inventory.

    "Your Store is Full" Feb 15
    Some users are getting an error message: "There were one or more errors while processing your request Sorry, your store is already full" though their store has less than four items in it.     Transaction Locks #1/Expired Items Feb 15th
    The transaction locks affecting a majority of Gaians occurs when an action taken in the marketplace 'fails'. This causes the item to be locked, and does not allow any further modification to the item listing by buyers or by the seller. The item also 'expires' but remains in the marketplace. The seller cannot confirm/accept bid or do anything else with the locked item. This is a known issue and is being looked into.

    Transaction Locks #2/Unable to sell Feb 15th
    The second transaction lock prevents sellers from placing any item into their vend stores. This is also being looked into, but we have less information on it. If you have a vend account and get a transaction lock error everytime you try place something for sale, please report in this thread: Transaction Lock Reports Thread

    More Expired Items Feb 15th
    There are also items that were placed up for 'auction' and do not automatically send to the highest bidder when the time expires, and require the seller to go in an manually 'accept' the bid. You can tell the difference between this and a transaction locked item by viewing the item history and seeing whether or not the last action on the item says, "Fail!" If it doesn't say fail, the seller might be able to manually accept the bid.

    Thread Subscriptions down Feb 16th
    Thread subscriptions are currently not functioning. Users are receiving "Could not obtain topic information" messages. There is no known fix for this at this time.

    Many users are missing the Buy Pass button when visiting the bank to buy a Trade Pass. Thankfully, the URL for buying a pass still works. (Clicking the link below should give you a pop-up at the bank asking if you want to buy a pass.)

    Trading Error
    When trading, some users are getting the following error message: "Trade confirmation failed because trade number ______ had already started."

    When this happens, just wait a few minutes. It is resolving on it's own.

    Save Changes Not Working At the moment no one can save their avatars. It is a sitewide problem. Sorry for the inconvenience.
