JCM 900 Alternative

anyone know a decent affordable alternative to Marshall JCM 900 amp, preferably valve for practice/small gigs. For use with a SG playing in various projects, from straight up punk hardcore to relaxed alt rock / post hardcore (think fugazi, seam, slint etc.)

Why of all the better amps that could be had for less (unless we're talking an original Plexi) would you even want a Marshall?

For that matter, worrying about your ampz isn't very punx, just start going to Pawnshops and buying whatever is cheap and big.
