Days n' Daze is ******** fantastic went to their house show in portland and then to their show at slabtown smile check out vampirates, I also like front bottoms but they are a bit more indie then anything also how I feel about AJJ went to their show not very ponx too many childrens no mosh no drunk ponx

Someone just introduced me to Andrew Jackson Jihad, and a bunch of other folk punk bands and I'm still not sure what I feel about them.
Thoughts on any folk punk bands anyone ?
If you could recommend me other bands in that category that'd be cool.

You should check out Mischief Brew!
& Defiance, Ohio.
They're two of my favorite folk punk bands.

Let's see... I've seen Ghost Mice, Amy Bruce Spaceshow, Mitch the Champ, Garret Walters, and Bandits at a house show and they were all great. The boyfriend likes Defiance, Ohio a lot. AJJ is my all time folk punk favorite though, have been for over half a decade.

Anybody else getting major Neutral Milk Hotel vibes fro AJJ's latest album? Go listen to "Temple Grandin" if you haven't, it's really good. John Congleton produced the album, so (stupidly) I was hoping to maybe hear some pAper chAse influence, even though I knew I wouldn't. AJJ, NMH, and TPC are like my male-led band trifecta so this album is really treating me, haha.

I like them, but I thought they were indie punk...not folk punk. Then again, I've never heard of folk punk.

haha hey I like how everyone's giving recommendations! I like folk music myself, even just the idea of putting your culture and heart on the line to be heard always sounds good to me. an old friend of mine Jess Kendall used to put records out in this sorta kinda thing haha not too sure if she still does but maybe listen to some of her old records and try it out
