It's fridge horror. At first you don't realize there is horror, then go watch it a second time and like omg so many foreshadowings.

The horror is that the whole fighting evil system exists to create the evil in the first place.

The whole plot isn't so much a detailed horror but it does sort of enhance glimpses of sadness alot.

Yeah, this is like the darkest type of urban fantasy. Maybe not "slasher" horror, but psychological horror? It's right up there with the nightmare fuel of Akira and Evangeleon.
