I saw the last part of the Death Note movie.
Totally the opposite from how the manga/anime ended.
I mean, really.

So What happens in the movie if it is completely different from the manga? I am curious now since I always liked the Death Note mangas.

L dies, and Rem dies too while destroying the 2nd Death Note.
Light and Misa rejoice and wait for Light's father to come back. Light, still in his fake good-son personality, asks his father for the original Death Note, but when his father opens the case and Light sees it lacking a Death Note, he's shocked.
All the police appear and aim their guns at him, and he's really surprised.
Then L appears, alive.
Apparently he wrote his name in the Death Note earlier, so his name written by Rem didn't actually work.
Light does his little crazy thing, yells at his father, saying Kira was justice, gets shot, tries to get Ryuk to kill them, and Ryuk kills him.
It goes a year later where Light's mother and sister remember him since his father never told the real truth.
So, no Mello, Near, and Matt because L never died.
So L won.

@Gino: LOL but it's ture. Not only were the actors ugly, the story weirrrrd, but they used RED HOT CHILI PEPPERS FOR THE THEME SONGS? If VIZ isn't at fault for the latter, I have to really question what went through the minds of the people making this movie.
