[S]ave [T]iny [T]im

Welcome to the now official thread for the STT crew. We are a small group of authors who make comics for your laughter. I am your host, Tiny Tim. Yes, the same Tiny Tim from the Christmas Carol. Or not. No, I am not tiptoeing through the tulips, but I am living in the sunshine. Ha, obsolete reference joke.

Save Tiny Tim started when GinoleTV (currently known as Dios de Television) was being generously hosted on donutpie.net, until donutpie suffered some fatal technical problems. Gino created his own werbsite, STT, to hosts comics. Though most comics are Gaia themed, it does not mean nonGaia comics are not encouraged. One of our longstanding most viewed comics is Naomi's blog which has little G.O. influences.

The posts below are basically a billboard for the comics hosted on Save Tiny Tim. They are in no particular order. If you wish to join, mention it in this thread and send a PM to either this mule or to Dios de Television. If you are visiting this thread from the site and do not have an account, send an email to ginoletv@hotmail.com A minimum of 15 comics or pages are required. Any less and I will have to request for more. So far 4 out of 5 people who joined the site with less than 15 have quit, so I am no longer providing exceptions. Handling the html is something you do not have to worry about. We will take care of that. It was once optional that you could run the HTML yourself, but we had some security issues with that with someone overstepping their boundaries.

Recap time! Once upon a time a package was needed to be delivered to an unknown recipient. Upon the quest, we go off into several tangents and before you know it, I forgot what my comic was about. Its mostly done using the virtual worlds provided by Gaia, with about 10 legend of Zelda and 2 crayon. Due to a hiatus during 2008, I have made more comics this year (at least one per week) than all of last year, but I'm back baby!

Crystal Clear is obviously the life of Crystal.
In this comic, you'll get some daily humor of what goes on this author's head.
Oh, and dont worry if you cant seem to understand what the point is in this comic!
Its intended to be hilarious, random, questioning, and stupid. surprised
So come have a laughter!

Naomi. Awesome person, and author of Naomi's Blog. Course, it's not really a blog, but a really awesome comic, detailing everything I like complaining about. With me, my sister, her gray and fuzzy cat, and my pug, we make one really kick a** comic. So come read it. You'll probably bust your gut by laughing too hard.
NOTE: Naomi does not approve of gut busting.

LE SIGH! We have quitters amongst us! Man, that sucks. Well, here are their links. We no longer support dead comics. They wasted space.

My own comic, I tried to do a Sims2 based comic. But the limitations proved too great. Ends in a suspenseful(ish) moment. Highlight for spoiler no one but me knows! ->Tiny Tim meets Tiny Tim the singer who controlled it all!

So you have a comic and do not have a good webhost... Or feel like joining a site that already has a fanbase rather than assemble one yourself (easier this way)? Then join the Save Tiny Tim crew! Send a private message to Dios de Television with a copy to your comic. If you are not a part of GaiaOnline, send an email with image attachments to ginoletv@hotmail.com Webspace is practically guaranteed on STT as long as you make me laugh with at least 15 comics. No exception to the fifteen, all people who joined with less than 15 have quit.

Afraid that you don't know HTML? We do all the coding for you! So if you have a comic, why not join?

[H]ow to [M]ake a [G]aia [B]ased [C]omic

There are many types of Gaia comics. Well, two that I know of--but that doesn't mean you shouldn't create your own style. First off, I'm going to put this in the thread and maybe later, dedicate a page on the website if it becomes too much information. O: YAY FOR INFORMATION! Lets start with the basics: Gaia comics are for those of you with little or no artist drawing or for those of you who are scanner-handicapped. For the longest time, I fell under both categories. Now I have access to a scanner but my talent is now in Gaia Sprite Comics; the technical term. To start you will need Microsoft Paint, MS Paint, or Paint. Its all the same program.

Something you should know: This is a tutorial for Gaia Comics, not TekTek Comics. TekTek Comics suffer from stiffness and are easier to spot than a single in a stripper bar. All avatars have their arms straight down and their only movement is "look left" and "look right". Yes, you will need to spend gold on your comic. I do, and trust me: Questing sucks when you're an author. In the next post, I show you with images how to make a Gaia/Tek Comic. O: Second to Cheapest option after TekTek Comic.

[S]ave[G]old: [F]ake in [I]tems

Below we have two images. You want to show Character A with Expensive ItdTakeMonthsToGetItem B. As of this writing the G Corp shirt is 89K! Expensive, especially if your character is a one time bit thing. Sure, you can show them stiffly with tektek, but quality goes down faster than a lead balloon which was not constructed by Mythbusters*. So lets compromise! Real avatar equipped with real items and one fake item.

On the left (Fig 1.1) we have ordinary Gaian. She's poor and needs an expensive shirt.* So we need to make her with a shirt like with the half naked avatar. First we need to head to one of two sites. Tektek.org or gavsim.net -- the only difference is that Tektek is more famous, but GAvSim came first. GAvSim is more accurate with layering than TekTek though it doesn't have EVERY item. Go to one of them and make your fake avatar and place the desired item on it. Since we're taking advantage that we can move arms, we'll have to separate the bent part of the arm from the rest of the avatar, as shown right of the dashed line.

Now that you've separated the arm, its time to fake in an item. I do it all the time. Now, in the example below, you'll see the avatar has a mouth? Why, class? That's right. So that you'll have a point of reference. Since the mouth is the same, you can crop it out with the shirt and place one mouth over the other. Everything else naturally lines up! By the way, in the middle step below, I say to copy the image yet the tektek avatar has a huge hole; this is to show what's been changed. And not me messing up. Yup.

Congratulations! You've just saved yourself thousands of gold. This method can be used for pants, hats, gloves, and even shadows! Shadows are tricky, since the username overlaps the shadow, you're left with an imperfect circle... something you can easily spot in most of my Gaia Comics.

*They made a balloon made of lead float.
*Ignoring the fact rystal's worth millions.
