The two choices could work together too, right? I would also find it interesting if the conundrum of the first choice worked both ways. It could fuel the plot if the two had to find a way to let the boy survive without his father/creator.

Hmmm.. yes they could possibly work together, but the plot of weither if the boy was recreated cus of his father's fantasy of having a son or cus his son died, I'd have to pick which one to do in the end. It would make the plot more interesting that way.
