...::Glass Slippers and Chandeliers::...

Walking through the many floors of the skyscraper, you find room after room of people dancing the night away. One floor, however, has a door, closed, with a sign on the handle saying "Reserved". You check the number of the floor you're on and realize it's the right one, so you knock, but the door seems to simply open for you.

As you walk in, you are greeted by hushed candles in chandeliers 'round the room, casting a faint heavenly glow on the marble floor. The columns are hung with draped satins of all shades of purple, with filigree accents in silver and black. The chandeliers are covered in crystals of clear and violet appearance, causing the sparkles in the room to take on different colors now and then. There are no people around, that you can see, though voices can be heard faintly, and a cool breeze blows in from an open french door across the room. It looks to lead to a large balcony.

The balcony is a half-round platform suspended at the side of the building, with a few stone benches and roses growing and twining around the openly carved stone. Wall sconces adorn the outer wall and light the area, their faint glow tinted a bluish violet hue, and casting dancing shadows on the balcony.

Inside the ballroom itself are suits of armor spaced along the walls, and a table of various light refreshments, to include danish butter cookies, lady fingers, and a fruit bowl, accompanied by a glass fountain of sparkling punch.

*Gently turning the knob, Kitten enters her reserved ballroom, taking a slow walk around the room to inspect it. She grabs a cookie and nibbles it thoughtfully as she continues her slow pace around the room, smiling at the light "whoosh" of her skirt flowing around her ankles.*

I wish I'd made it here sooner... such a waste for it to have gone unused all week... I suppose it couldn't be helped.

*Finishing her cookie, she takes a quick twirl in her dress to watch the material float around her for a moment before settling again, her tail following suit as she spun in the cool air. She giggled softly at how childish she was when wearing something floofy or flowy, and spun the handle of her mask in her hand, watching the feathers sway this way and that before trekking out to the balcony*

I do hope they all find their way here before Prom ends. Or at least one of them. It would seem a complete waste to have kept this floor open if nobody comes to at least have a cookie with me. I just hope nobody I didn't intend to be here decides to take advantage of my having left the door unlocked... I couldn't very well send out keys to everyone...

*She sighs softly and treks back to the refreshment table to take a few more cookies and a cup of punch to tide her over until her guests arrived. Feeling a bit warm, she heads back out to the balcony to take a look at the sky as the sun went down*
*Walks up to the door, digging through his pockets nervously for his number.* Whew I am allowed to be here. *He takes a deep breath and walks in, taking in the area a moment before noticing that another person is there walking around.*

*hearing footsteps, she turns her head and peeks back into the ballroom. A soft smile overtakes her lips as she stands and walks back inside to greet the young man who had just entered*

I see you made it. I'm glad your invitation wasn't lost. Would you like a snack, or something to drink?

*She found herself smiling cutely at his ever-present bunny ears, and felt happy that he'd kept them so long*
*He smiles, breathing deeply as the familiar face approached him* That would be nice, haven't eaten much this eve. And no it wasn't lost, though I did have a hard time keeping track of it myself, my memory isnt all that great sometimes. *his ears perk and he looks around the room slowly* So its just us? Or are there other people invited to the dance as well?

*She smiles and nods, taking his hand to lead him to the refreshment table, a soft blush on her cheeks*

Others may appear, though I believe it will likely be just the two of us. I don't think my other invitations ever made it to their destinations...

*She huffed quietly about how unreliable couriers could be when they were in a hurry to get off work to go party*

Any preference of food? I ordered several small treats...

*She smiles knowingly and looks through the dessert trays to pick up a chocolate eclair and set it on a napkin before turning to offer it to him*

If I remember correctly, you have a fondness for these little things...
*He smiles, taking the eclair happily.* That I do, they are very tasty pastries. *he takes a large bite, chocolate smearing on his lips as he indulges in the treat* And well the couriers should be fired for not doin their job correctly. *He nods, taking another bite*

*She covers her mouth, stifling a giggle, but cannot hide the blush deepening in her cheeks at the sight of chocolate around his mouth. Her eyes sparkled with mischief as a silly thought crossed her mind. Quickly regaining her composure, she takes a filled donut for herself and takes a curious bite to see what flavor the filling was*

Mmm... my favorite. Chef would remember that, I suppose.

*Her smile never waivered as she continued to nom on her tasty treat, mulling over the possible repercussions of firing lax workers*

I suppose they should at least be punished for it, but I wouldn't know what would be appropriate. I may file a complaint at some point, but not tonight. Tonight, I wish to simply enjoy the scenery... and the lovely ballroom, as well.

*Her eyes twinkled again at the hidden compliment, hoping he wouldn't decide her to be too crazy for it*
*He finishes his eclair, wiping the chocolate off with a napkin* Well maybe firing is too much but still they didn't do what they are supposed to. And this is a lovely ballroom here. *He looks around again, slowly taking in the designs, lights, arrangements and other details around the room.* Do you have a DJ? Or is the music going to be from another source?

*She smiles and takes another bite of her donut*

Well, I did ask for a string quartet, but I believe they're being held up downstairs, still. Something about one of the other floors losing their band, and wanting to shteal mine before they make their way up here. Luckily, the leader is brother to my Chef friend, and knows me fairly well. I'm sure they'll be along shortly.

In the meantime, I should probably stop eating so many sweet things...

*She finishes her donut and tosses the napkin into the little wastebasket under the table, before picking a small bunch of grapes to nibble at*
*He takes up a cup of punch, sipping it slowly as she informs him of the quartet being delayed.* Well that is a shame, not really fair to take your musicians like that though. Any idea how long they may be? *he laughs softly as she talks about eating too many sweets* Eh well Its a special occasion so why not go a little overboard?

I do hope they won't be much longer... I had hoped to have at least one dance before the night is done...

*She pouts softly as she eats another grape. Hearing a commotion out in the hall, she turns quizzically towards the doorway and walks to it quickly. She stops for a moment as she looks out in the hallway and laughs a bit as she sees the violinist quarreling with the GRS agent. Seeing her, he quickly blushes and rushes back into the elevator to leave the poor musicians to their job*

I'm so glad you've arrived. Thank you for coming.

*She ushers the musicians into the room and leads them to their stand in the middle of the ballroom, talking with them momentarily before leaving them to return to Nisafei's side with a bashful smile*

Well, seems the host of the entire prom was the one heckling the musicians. I'll have to have a talk with him after this...

*She chuckles softly and takes Nisy's advice, grabbing another donut and munching on it happily*

I'm glad you are here with me...

*She blushes deeply, suddenly very interested in staring at her donut*
*he grins, ears twitching as he watches her bring in the musicians. Giggling to himself as she takes up another donut.* Well seems the dancing will soon begin! *He finishes his punch, watching the musicians set up*

*She finishes her donut and takes a sip of punch as well, to wash it down. She hears the musicians talking amongst themselves before starting up a sweet little tune she didn't recognize*

I'm glad to have found some on such short notice. It can be difficult when most musicians, singers, and dj's in town are booked already.

*She smiles sheepishly at Nisafei, feeling a little bashful about being the only two in the room but the musicians*
*he smiles, watching kitten blush yet again, he reaches over to her and pulls her into a warm hug* We best not let the music go to waste now should we?
