Well there's a few sources from books/anime/T.V etc that show vamps consuming alchol (and other drugs) in that manner so I pretty much accept it as truth.

If you get caught I'm pretty sure they'd be to busy with the murder charge to worry about underage drinking.

and w0000! For living in the UK where the drinking age is 18, it means I can be 20 and still be well on my way to getting tipsy.

Is anyone a Robin McKinley fan? She's a pretty great author and put out a vampire book a couple years ago that was amazing. I'm a really staunch Anne Rice fan, too, so admitting that someone else could write a worthy and believable vampire novel is pretty big for me. rofl

not much sadly vampire forums go rather slowly, so do most of the guilds for my favorite bands its sad really

I've read Stephanie Meyer's series.

I recommend the Black Dagger Brotherhood by JR Ward. It's about warrior vamps.

Laurell K Hamilton both her series. One is about Anita Blake who raises corpses and involves vamps, wereanimals, and becomes sexual.
The other about Merry Gentry (it's more about Fearie than vamps) and becomes sexual.

Kim Harrison's books about the Hollow and Rachel Morgan. She kinda like a bounty hunter/cop. She's a witch but the story involves werewolves, vamps, demons.

Also Patricia Briggs about Mercy Thompson. She's a shifter coyote, involves faerie creatures. Good short reads.

Um, I read alot by the way. I've read some of Anne Rice's books but I was young when they came out. I might re-read them now.
