How do you hack or debug the position on IE8? You've only shown IE6 & 7.
Once you are using C.S.S standards, you shouldn't really need to make any changes for I.E 8 since the rendering engine is good enough that it would look the same in Gekko, I.E 8 and Webkit based browsers. The only browser you should really need to use any C.S.S hacks if necessary would be I.E versions lower than eight, which you should do your best "not" to support. If you absolutely need to, the "asterisk C.S.S hack" should work fine. There are rare occasions that Internet Explorer would not have the same effect as it would in over browsers such as the "display: table" issue that I.E seems to be unable to understand. If you encounter any such issues feel free to look around in Google, or if you are unable to understand the problem at all feel free to post within the Profile Discussion and someone knowledgeable would do their best to help you. =)

I'm using Firefox, and I'm trying to get my comments section to scroll without actually showing the scroll bar. And also, it works on your profile but not mine.

Ah, so you mean hidden scrolls. 3nodding

Quote:
/*comments*/
#comments dl {overflow-x:hidden; overflow-y:auto;}
#comments p {color:white;}
#comments .caption, #comments .caption2 {margin-top:10px; margin-bottom:10px; border:2px solid black;}
#comments .caption .date, #comments .caption2 .date {text-align:center;}
#comments {overflow-y:scroll; height:200px; width:400px; scrollbar-arrow-color: white; scrollbar-face-color: #4F4F4F; scrollbar-track-color: gray; scrollbar-3dlight-color: black; scrollbar-darkshadow-color: black; scrollbar-highlight-color: black; scrollbar-shadow-color: black;}

Replace the two codes in red above with the ones below. 3nodding (The third code is for adjusting the comment captions to fit and look neat, otherwise when you set the dl height and etc what'll happen is stuff'll pretty much look screwed up.)

#comments{width:400px;height:200px;overflow:auto;overflow-x:hidden;overflow-y:hidden;}
#comments dl{height:130px;overflow:auto;overflow-x:hidden;padding-bottom:0px;padding-right:4000px;}
#comments .caption, #comments .caption2{position:relative;left:-100px;width:400px;}

You're a life saver

If s t a r s were reasons I l o v e you . . .

"

I feel like a retard.
I have one more question.
How would I get the cursor to change when it goes over a link?

"

There w o u l d n t be e n o u g h to count them all
Feel the girth, feel the pinch and exhale. Voices dead within the wind . . . I could never l- love you.

Set the cursor property on the "a" selector. =)

Fluid from a broken wound, ceases; pushing up through the vents, so wild.
All
alone and no one's home darling, not a soul, not a sound but somehow. . .

If s t a r s were reasons I l o v e you . . .

"

...I feel like an idiot.
could you translate that to the "for dummies" version if its possible?

"

There w o u l d n t be e n o u g h to count them all
The code would go like this-

a:hover{cursor: -insert cursor value here- ;}

For example, if I wanted an animated cursor the code would go like a:hover{cursor: url(blahblahblah .png, .gif, .cur or .ani), auto;}. And if I wanted it to go to some default, the code would be like a:hover{cursor:crosshair;}. 3nodding
