I'm not done yet, but how come my link's [on the gaia header] font-color doesn't change . And when I hover over it, it won't change either .

That's because they're links, as stated. Here's an example code of changing the color of them. (non-hovered and hovered)
#gaia_header a{color:#000000!important;}
#gaia_header a:hover{color:#ff0000!important;}

Non-hovered, they'd be black. Hovered, they'd be red. And as Anorhc would say, when in doubt, !important out (to make sure the code will override fully into the system.)
