Story Time [Because I'm tired and need a break from the Design Document]

When I was 10 years old [or so], I had to baby-sit my relatives two kids.
While the parents were getting ready to go out, my cousins, the two children, were a-top the stair-case.

The oldest, a girl, maybe 7 years old and her brother, a 5 year old boy.
I was at the bottom of the stairs, and for whatever reason the girl decided to push her brother.
Down the stairs.
A 5 year old boy.
He tumbled roughly 25 flights of stairs. surprised
And was not moving once he reached the bottom.

I checked to see if he was okay, and sat him on the bottom stair.
He was confused, hurt, and dizzy but seemingly alright.

I didn't know what to do with the sister for this, so I went to her mother and told her what happened.
She told me: "Don't be such a snitch" in response.
While we were speaking I heard the sound of someone falling down the stairs again.
The brother, in his confusion, had climbed the stairs again only to be pushed back down.


Later that night I caught the two strangling each-other.
I learned this was normal for them, eventually.

This is an example of bad parenting, and what bad parenting causes.
surprised Please don't be like these parents if you have kids.

And remember: Beat your children if they hurt each other or misbehave. They will hate you, but they will turn out to be more normal and stable humans.

ASSIGNMENT FIVE: Binary Search Trees and Serialization

Description
You will be required to create an ADT for a Binary Search Tree (BSTInterface.java). The interface will be implemented as a Binary Search Tree (BST) using a reference based format. The implementation of the BST will be used in an application called WordTracker that reads text files and collects and stores all the unique words it finds in those files. The BST will be able to store information from multiple text files. It will also keep track of each occurrence of a word in a file and the line on which it was found in that file. This information will be stored in a double-linked list for each word object stored in the BST. The program will also produce output, specified by the user at command line, to generate reports using a variety of iterators built into the BST.

The assignment goes on but... because of the time crunch I just got the BST interface written, a method or two, and the WordTracker.java to just read in files via command line. This is the result, and the reason why I am more awesome then any of you:

The application for the WINTER round is now available. If things look a bit rushed, they were. It seems school is haunting me even while I'm on break because I have to run around trying to enroll in this or that class and get my work and school schedules to coincide. All that, and the holidays are always hectic anyway! xd

Anywho, the WINTER application is available. Some notes:

• Feel free to make Christmas, New Year, or MLK profiles (for example), even though the contest will end after those holidays have passed. Winter means different things to everyone, and if the first thing you think of when you hear "winter" is "OMG, SANNICLAUS!" then make a profile expressing that. biggrin
  
  
• I am in the process of making/buying/beggingfor a Wintery CPC banner to replace the lovely Halloween one. The "new regular" CPC first page (i.e., the one Swell Sundae designed) will return for the CPC anniversary lightning round bonanza in February. 3nodding
  
  
• The Prize amount will probably either increase in gold, or a letter or item will be added to the pot. Depends on what the MC is this month, I guess. whee
  
  
• As always, we need judges for this round.
  
  
• I removed the "reserve-a-slot" rule from the list of guidelines, but if you "really" want to reserve a slot, I'll allow it. biggrin
  
  
• I am considering allowing folks to enter both the lightning round and the Winter round simultaneously, since the winter round may be extended into February (when am I 'ever' on time here in the CPC? lawl!) *ahem* Running both contests concurrently will also allow for a longer deadline for the anniversary contest, so I am strongly leaning toward this.

It would make me proud. xD Though, I would probably put a Tic-Tac-Toe reference in there as well. O-O ; ; ; I'm just a nerd with those kinds of things. =P Duck!? Where? D= I'm not a duck, I'm Duck-a-man (play-off on Tekkaman for any of you anime fanatics of old times). Well, I'd like if the competition lasted to mid-January or something, but please don't run it with another competition. That'd just make it a LOT more hectic for you to judge...Unless the judging times take place weeks apart from each other.

Lately, it has taken a really long time to fill a significant amount of slots, so if I have the deadline fall within a couple weeks, there probably won't be that many contestants...unless of course, people are really all that into winter and 60,000 applications are posted next week. xd

HAL is also set up as the index-page for my loopback address (127.0.0.1) for my webserver.
This means every time I seriously mess up on linking things, HAL kindly informs me he will not do as asked.

Confused my Web teacher a fair bit today by grumbling, "HAL, stop being an a*****e and let me see my secure site! DB<"

Though once he saw my screen he said I'd get bonus marks for my assignment. xD


Throwing little references like that into things is pretty fun, though. And helps makes horrible work loads slightly less miserable. D:
If you ever do make either a desktop application or some type of website that requires a lot of user feed-back, you should include some HAL references. wink It jacks up your awesome points and makes a few people smile.
