yep, but it requires flash and being able to figure it out... I still don't quite get what's what, I just put colors in until I get the desired effect I'm looking for xd

Im using a custom one, but for some reason I can get it to work..
It came with a premade playlist.xml file and you needed that to edit the playlist. After I saved it as a xspf file and try to play it , it gives me an error saying "wrong playlist format" also it seems it also needs its config.xml file too..
do you know how to fix this?

no, I've never messed with any xml files with these... just the .swf, .fla, and .xspf

since you're using your own host for the playlist, but not the same host for the player, you need an extra file.

This file has to go on the site with the playlist, which is why you don't need it for using webjay, because webjay puts the file in for you.

http://musicplayer.sourceforge.net/

click that link and find where it says "crossdomain.xml" and read what that box has to say... or just upload the swf file to the same place as your playlist smile

Getting the Player Files

Now, in all honesty, you could just use any player that is already out on the web, hosted by someone else, and just put your playlist URL into the multimedia URL.

But I like to discourage that sort of hotlinking.

So instead, I'll show you how to get the files yourself, so that you can upload them to your own host.

Basically, you choose which player you want to use, the button, the slim, or the extended.

The button version is simply a play button, with the ability to only play or pause the music. It's ZIP files can be found here: http://prdownloads.sourceforge.net/musicplayer/button_player-0.1.zip?download

The slim version has play/pause, skip, and stop buttons, as well as displaying track information. It's ZIP files can be found here: http://prdownloads.sourceforge.net/musicplayer/xspf_player_slim-0.2.3.zip?download

And finally the extended version has everything the slim version has, but it also shows the full playlist. It's ZIP files can be found here: http://prdownloads.sourceforge.net/musicplayer/xspf_player-0.2.3.zip?download

Once you've finished downloading the zip file, you'll need to unzip it. I'd reccommend unzipping it to a folder on your desktop just so that you don't lose track of it.

Then you'll need your own webhost to upload the files to. To the best of my knowledge you only need to upload the .swf file that is downloaded. For those of you who don't have your computer set up to show you the file extensions as part of it's name, this file is the one that says "Flash Movie" in the "Type" column. The other files are available if you are good with flash/action script and wanna tweak things, such as colors and whatnot.

This is the part where I feel so dumb...

I downloaded the third link with the extended options... But, as I unzipped the files, I opened the .swf file and it tells me that Windows couldn't open the file. So, out of a COMPLETE guess ( I really suck... I know. ), I placed it on WordPad and got a rambling of codes...

Did I do something wrong...

Well for one, it's a movie file, so you'll only get garbage when you open it in a text program.

You actually don't need to open it at all, you just need to upload the .swf file to your host as is. The only file you even need to open is the .fla, but you can only open that if you have Macromedia Flash, not Macromedia Flash Player. The only reason you'd need to do that is if you want to edit the colors of the player smile
