Okay, so do you guys remember the time when gaia had a glitch in the profile comments?
and then 1-2 days later, they 'fixed' it & whatnot
and then apparently, it's not fixed. the position is fixed, but I could not see any comments.
the user names are there, but no messages -____-
am i the only one? gonk

Considering I just started (again) today, I'm not having any problems. Then again, I have no comments. Though I have seen a few profiles with that problem so far, and I was wondering why.

Please see Carbonphyber's post. The comments are fixed. If it has excessive BBcode or is excessively long it removes the comment as to not break it again.

Edit: Apparently I misspoke. The patch didn't clear it up the entire way, although excessively heavy BBcodes and long posts are treated as plain text if you view the comments on the comments page that have a lot of BBcode.

Except, it seems "not fixed" in the sense that no matter how short the comment is, nothing shows when comments are set to "minimal" size setting.

Oops, oh well. I edited my post (check if you want). But I'm sure Carbonphyber is working on a fix.

He has become notorious with posting saying that something is fixed, but then when questioned, he answers saying that the real fix would be "soon". I do wish he would say what he means, not say that something is fixed when in actuality, it is still being worked on. All the other devs/admins say that a fix is being worked on, then send out another notice when the issue is fixed.

I understand him just fine. xd Then again I've also had technical discussions with him via PMs. xd
From what I can tell I figure Carbonphyber is a Sr. PHP engineer, he knows everything about the site and handles most of the fixes.

Until it's fully fixed I guess you have the option of changing to the Regular style then hiding the avatar and horizontal line with CSS?
I can't remember if there are any other major differences between the two styles.

#id_comments .dropBox { display: none; }
#id_comments dt { border-bottom: none; }

In your account settings you need to switch your comments from "minimal" to "regular"
