EDIT: Nvm, both of your questions have to do with IE. Unfortunately, I can't work with IE at the moment since I just moved over to Linux.

For now, I can just suggest adding !important to the overflow-y in the second line, like #comments dl{overflow-y: auto !important;}.

A.P, I'm not sure about your problem. Stopping the horizontal overflow shouldn't affect the vertical overflow, so there might be something else in the code that is causing trouble. You could also try the !important like Addiction_Caterd.

I'm having trouble getting the about section right.

Comments worked perfectly, but the about section has a huge blank space at the top...and now the bottom too.

This is what I'm using currently:

#about {background-color:transparent;border: 3px double red;position:relative;left:-450px;top:20px;height:300px;width:280px; overflow:auto; overflow-x: hidden; overflow-y:hidden}
/*the section where it displays whatever is in your about section*/
#about ul {overflow-y: auto; padding-right: 500px; height: 100px; width: 280px;}

And my about section is:

[list][align=center]Text[/align][/list]

Your profile has brought up an interesting realization! I just realized that the #about ul will also affect the about links, since the #about .links are also classified as an ul. Basically, what was happening with your code is that the height you set for #about ul of 100px was also make the #about .links 100px tall, which was pushing down the about main content.

You can fix the top indent by changing the height of #about .links to 15px. I also changed the height of #about ul to 280px, so it would fill the whole section.

Here is the code that I used for your profile to make it work:
