complicated order ~

hi you guys,
im a very complicated person, or it seems like that to me,
um, im making a profile atm,
and i was wonder if theres a html code to make the columns go lower than standard.
FOR AN EXAMPLE:

this is the header.
|SPACE|
this is where the columns are all lined out automatically.

i want mine be to like:

this is the header
|SPACE|
|SPACE|
|SPACE|
and this is where the columns line up at.

i dont know if that made sense, but i really hope i can find someone to help me asap. :c

now i have another question for you guys. x:
my background is black, and my boxes are too,
how do i change my font color to #2FB980 or anything that isnt black. lol.
i dont know why im having such a hard time with this,
i have already tried:
.panel {color: #xxxxxx }

i'm not looking for [ color=ahgf85yuetrg][ /color] loool .
