And you didn't even mention the worst finisher in wrestling today Psi. I mean how could you miss an opportunity to diss The Stroke?

I really doubt I could say anything more about the pounce than everyone else already has.
I really like Hardcore Holly.

And to Terrah Rizing: Insane moves? Willing to sell? I really have no idea what you're talking about. This is the same company that whores out the rediculously-assisted Canadian Destroyer, the "Is that supposed to hurt?" Styles Clash, and the "Big ******** Deal" Raven Effect. Talk to me not of silly moves. Besides, Jeff Jarrett is only 230 pounds, which is only ten more pounds than Homicide; someone Joe has hit the Muscle Buster on.

One: It's just one word. "TerraRising." Not really a comment, just a correction. biggrin

Two: I don't care how good a wrestler Samoa Joe is, he's a big guy wrestling smaller people. Even if he is a heel, he comes more like a cheap bully than an actual guy to boo.

Three: I didn't say that the Muscle Buster was as dumb as the Pounce, or whatever the ******** you mentioned. I said this:

Joe has two good friends, AJ Styles and Chris Daniels who are both stars in the company, WILLING to take the damn Muscle Buster and sell it. Do you honestly see Monty Brown, any of the Naturals or AMW taking the move anytime soon? I sure as ******** don't, much less Abyss or Sabu or Rhyno, or Christian Cage...

Bottom line, if Jeff Jarrett takes the Muscle Buster, I will eat my computer. I don't see it happening, regardless of HOW good a wrestler he is.

Yeah, but misspelling words is the cool thing to do these days. Get with the times, man.

I really can't argue against this point for one reason: Samoa Joe's saving grace is that he's an awesome wrestler. He's not one for promos, he's not very charismatic, he lets his actions speak for themselves. If you're overlooking how well a wrestler can wrestle, you should really re-evaluate your argument.

Fine, bend your words to adapt your argument. Logic will prevail in the end.

Yes, I really can see The Naturals, AMW, Christian Cage, and Rhyno taking the Muscle Buster. And why not? The move is over with the crowd like crazy and it looks like you just got your neck broken. Triple J wouldn't take the Muscle Buster because he's an egomaniacle nepotist and wouldn't take a move more dangerous than a suplex if his life depended on it. Abyss is too big to take it, and Sabu...well...he'd probably throw a fireball in Joe's eyes or something. He's hardcore like that.
Funny, misspelled my name on every post... rolleyes

That describes hundreds of wrestlers who are unable to make it to ROH or JAPW or any of the other major indy circuits. Nothing special there.

Secondly, a guy who "just wrestles" is, I'm sorry to say, boring as all hell. Lance Storm, one of my all time favorite workers, "just wrestled" and he was booked in a "Boring" angle with Austin. It even took a while for me to get Chris Benoit and I had tapes of him wrestling in ECW and Japan!

Bottom line on this: If Samoa Joe doesn't give me something to like/dislike about him other than his in-ring abilities, then I am not gonna give two shits about him. And I'm not alone in this.

I honestly don't know how to respond to this. It's that insane.

Those wrestlers are NOT going to take the Muscle Buster. It's a legitimate way of ending a career and no one with a higher spot in the company is going to risk it. If Joe busts out of the X-Division (and I honestly hope he does so I can be proven wrong), that move will be thrown out of his repertoire, tout de suite.

Another thing: Moves don't make a wrestler big. The character using the move does. The "People's Elbow" is the stupidest thing imaginable, but the Rock's arrogance and showmanship sold the crowd on the move. Joe doesn't do anything like that!

Letting the "wrestling speak for itself" is a road to nowhere...
Practically EVERYONE Joe has wrestled with in Ring of Honor, and about every other fed he's been in, has taken the Muscle Buster at one point or another. As far as I know, someone has yet to be crippled by it. Thus, I think most people would be willing to take the move. Also, you seem to be completely forgetting that Joe has another finisher; the Coquina Clutch. If someone doesn't want to take the Muscle Buster, Joe can always choke them out and make their b***h-a** tap.

Another thing, comparing Lance Storm to Samoa Joe isn't really a good analogy. Storm wrestles a technical style, while Joe's entire moveset is basically made to get the crowd excited. Stiff strikes, messing people's faces up and dropping them on their head. It's about as spotty as a big guy like Joe can get. And if The Undertaker can get himself over on the mic, Joe can. The man has a very good sense of what to say in order to make himself sound menacing. His character is simple, but he has a good grasp of it. I always liked his quote after the second hour long draw with CM Punk: "You're not going to get a rematch, Punker. The object was to beat me, not to survive me."

The main thing is that Joe can wrestle just as well, but TNA has made him into the unstoppable, walking Samoan death tank. In ROH, he's a high-card wrestler, but he certainly doesn't have a winning streak. I think he finished off the year with a 17-11 record or something like that. Definitely not the invincible monster TNA makes him out to be. You can't blame him for getting thrust into random squash matches. That's booking's fault.

And are you telling me moves like the Ole Ole Kick aren't over? Sure, it might not be at the People's Elbow level yet, but Joe's only been wrestling for a few years now. And TNA/ROH fans aren't the type to cheer an idiotic move just because it's done by their favorite wrestler.

Joe can quite easily get himself over on his style of wrestling. It's just a matter of whether or not you're more entertained by wrestling or mic work.
As I was typing the last post, I knew I was stirring up a hornet's nest. Oh well, I got into this, I'm in it until I'm bored.

I'm taking this out of order, so deal with it.

*TNA Fans still chant along with Road Dogg and Konnan's bullshit. Don't tell me what kind of things they won't cheer for. That stuff don't fly with me! (And, before you get your panties in a bunch, I know Road Dogg is "BG James," but he's still playing the same ******** he was in D-X).

*If Lance Storm was a bad analogy, let me give a better one. Chris Benoit took YEARS to get over as "just a wrestler," through THREE seperate companies, and he's still struggling to keep his spot. Joe has less than one year with TNA and he's mired in a division he SHOULD dominate!

*The Muscle Buster's popularity aside, no upper-level wrestler is going to take the move. They wouldn't have to, since TNA rewards merit like the WWE does (not at all).

*Finally, like Mike Awesome, Samoa Joe is huge for the X-Division, but middle of the pack for the heavyweights. If he's that good, he should be chasing for the major title instead of wrestling smaller guys.

Okay, I'm done with this. If we want to continue, we should make a "Samoa Joe" thread and leave this one alone.
Enough of the Quoting War, we both know who we're talking to.

As to people not being willing to take the muscle Buster, you're forgetting one key factor(I'll even put it in bold, so you can understand it better): Nearly every move can be a legitimate way to end a career. It all depends on how good the person preforming the move is. If he's a good worker and careful, he can pull off an Avalanche Brainbuster with little serious damage. If the wrestler is sloppy, you could put someone out with something as simple as, let's say, a Polish Hammer(I'm looking at you, Maters! Stevie Cool 4 LYF, SUCKAH!!). And Samoa Joe is good enough to not kill his opponents.
I'll end my participation in this insipid insanity with this...

If Samoa Joe is really that good, he should be in the upper division wrestling Cage and Brown. Instead, he's in a division that, in the eyes of a casual fan, he SHOULD DOMINATE!

His "promos" are laughable (Jake Roberts was the ONLY guy who did cool and smooth effectively) and he's lucky to have good workers who sell his stuff, rather than no-sell it like AJ does with other people. Samoa Joe will be at the same level unless he kicks his personality up.

What works in ROH (which bores me to tears) does NOT work anywhere else!
I think we can draw a conclusion here.

TerraRising is a WWE uber-mark.
my favorite wrestlers are:

John Cena
Batista
Rey Mysterio
Eddie Guerrero (RIP)
Undertaker
Matt Hardy

and these are some of the wrestlers I think are ok:

Shawn Michaels
Shelton Benjamin
Kane
Jeff Hardy
Chavo Guerrero

and thats it
TerraRising

What works in ROH (which bores me to tears) does NOT work anywhere else!
FINALLY! SOMEONE WHO AGREES!

*Runs for the hill, knowing the RoH marks are coming.*
I would join in on this argument, but it's just a war of opinions now. TerraRising doesn't like Samoa Joe, big deal. The Orlando fans, fans of RoH, and quite a few fans of actual wrestling love Joe. Just because someone doesn't like something you do doesn't always mean you have to try and make them "see the light." In this case it obviously failed as TerraRising has no intentions of changing his opinion and neither does Psi. Both TerraRising and Blasko don't like RoH, whatever. RoH has become self-sufficient this year so that shows there is an audience for them. It's the same type of deal for me not liking WWE or CZW. Sure I may think the WWE is slow, boring, predictable, and a total waste of time to watch, but SOMEONE out there likes them for whatever reason. Sure I may think CZW is a bunch of trash wrestling which is about the lowest and most un-entertaining form of wrestling there is, but SOMEONE out there...maybe even besides just Blasko wink , likes them.

And you wonder why some people would rather have favorite wrestler threads than post in this sticky...
