How many of you out there really believe that CM Punk's "Best In The World" thing is more than just a gimmick? I'd like to believe he is, but remember what happened when he took on The Undertaker at Hell in a Cell for the World Heavyweight Championship a few years back? I'm not trying to be biased towards either one of these guys, but when I see CM Punk actually defeat The Undertaker in a legitamate one-on-one match WITHOUT ANY INTERRUPTIONS, I'll believe without a doubt that Punk IS the BEST in the WORLD.

...Maybe...in the WWE Universe, he is the unofficial co-title bearer of "Best In The World". In The overrall.....meh, I think there are some Luchadors and Japanese legends that cold hold that title before Punk

You're serious? John Cena? I mean he's not a bad wrestler and he definately not as horrible as people claim he is but the best? I would never even put him in the top 5 WWE wrestlers who could claim to be Best in the (WWE) World.

I'm going to go out on a limb and say yes. Do other guys beat him in certain areas? Yes. But as an all-around competitor, you'd be hard pressed to find anyone who is as good on the mic, as good a heel or babyface, and has that much ring talent as him. Put him in any other company and he's the focal point of the show...now if only WWE would realize that...

No offense, but CM Punk beat John Cena last time they wrestled (Money In The Bank 2011). How does Cena have a more legitimate claim than Punk at that title?

Lol. I agree CM Punk has unmatched mic skills and a charismatic personality whether he's face or heel, but I was actually thinking more about his in-ring win/loss record here. Maybe it's just me, but I can't see how a guy can call himself the "Best In The World", KNOWING that there are others out there who he's yet to legitimately beat. And yes maybe there's only a small handful of said "others", but still.

Wrestling is fake...so beating people doesn't mean anything, especially when the WWE's had a vendetta out against him for quite some time. Instead of win-loss, look at his record of putting on great matches with guys. Cena, Mysterio, ADR, Dolph...And that's just this year. THAT'S what makes someone a great wrestler, and THAT is why he is the best in the world.

As much as I love CM Punk, for his attitude and he is a very good wrestler. Always has been, even when he was really young. I don't think he is quite there for best in the world as a legit title (it is a gimmick set-up by the WWE). There are quite a few wrestlers like Bryan Danielson, Yamato, Shingo, Naruki Doi, and Undertaker that can carry people a lot better then he can. CM Punk has a lot of heart and it is obvious that he has a love for the business and he's got really good presence. At the moment that's all I can really ask for from a wrestler.
