That is some very spiffy art you've got there, Fish!
I'm loving AJ. :3
Re: This Is It and MJ:
I never knew much about MJ before his death - I knew I loved "Billy-Jean" and "Thriller", but I didn't know much about the person.
I'm more in absolute awe of how much work he and his entire team (dancers and musicians included) put into the series of concerts they had scheduled. This Is It is basically footage from the rehearsals leading to the concerts, but MJ died before any could be performed.
That really sucks, because they spent a lot of time and effort preparing for them.
I'm not going to comment on his personal life because I don't know much about it (and I'm also more firmly placed on the positive side of MJ, not his negative side - which I believe is mostly media spin anywho), but I adore him as a musician.
He really knew his stuff, his dancing at 50 was still incredible, his timing was spot-on, his connection to his dancers and musicians was inspiring and his own philosophy regarding his music and how it spreads awareness was really novel. You don't see many musicians today who are so passionate about using their music to change things - at least not in the pop or rap genres, not anymore.
RE: Stuff going on while going to bed:
I need silence before I can sleep. Sometimes I'll pass out if I've had a really long day, but generally I need quiet, or near silence. If anyone moves around in the rooms adjacent to mine, I can't fall asleep.
My most deep sleeps have come while camping in Squamish, BC - smack dab in the middle of the mountains, waking up to eagles and the sun rising behind a peak.
RE: Music:
I'm pretty much like Blrgh - I listen to almost everything, except country and rap.
Frank Sinatra, metal, alt rock, modern rock, indie rock, folk, techno, dance, ambient, classical (Vivaldi, Mozart, Bach, Paganini [sp?]) - almost anything.
Play me a bit of Ol' Blue Eyes and I calm right down, though. "Yellow Moon and Empty Arms" especially.
Anywho, I'm off to shower and maybe draw a bit and then I'm off to bed.
