I used illustrator for the lines and photoshop for the effects. You have excellent perception. xD

Illustrator is like f#cking magic for doing swirls. xD

I'm too used to photoshop and always tried to do everything there, but recently I've been working with different programs for one task, and each has it's strengths, it's pretty cool how you can get it done much faster and better. xD

Illustrator is epic for doing shapes, swirls, vectors, etc. If I need a complicated shape in PS I go to IL, make it, then export to PS, much faster.

And Paint Tool Sai is awesome with linework, btw.

ps. If I use IL too much, then go to PS, I try to pick and move stuff that isn't on the same layer all the time. xD

It's true. Illustrator's specialty is vectors, and then vectors can be resized to any size w/o getting distorted. xD

And Sai was created by God, because he was using PS and thought "Hey, this s**t gets all unstable when I'm drawing a simple line! It's probably the work of the Fiery One, that mofo! I shall make a more stable tool" then he clapped his hands and a Japanese dude crapped the first copy of Sai.
