The world was in a state of ruin.

People were fleeing the major cities to get away from the corruption and pollution. They were seeking a haven, a piece of Earth that they could hopefully escape what people were calling the end of the known world.

Kokopelli was only known as a myth, an amazing haven of fauna and flora. It was a small population that decided to seek out this island, knowing that if they stayed it would be worse than finding out the island never existed.

However, they did find it. They stumbled onto the soft sandy shoreline with sand so white and clean it squeaked- grateful to be on land after a long sea voyage on a fairly leaky boat. To the right was a green smudge that was a great and imposing forest. To the far left was the peaks of mountains, looking only like small hills from where they stood. And in the distance infront of them was a tall and dangerous summit, covered in snow.

They split into two groups, one heading towards the forest, the other towards the mountains they saw. And it was on their travels that they saw the curious inhabitants of the land. At first it was nothing more than a pair of bright eyes looking out of a bush. Then as their trip continued, the bright eyes grew curious.

The travellers documented the curious creatures, which they eventually discovered to be foxes. They had three major stages of growth; Kits, who would stay under a protective mother and would suckle for food. There was an adolescent stage of growth- they were the majority of the foxes who followed them. They were testing boundaries just like the human teenagers with them. Then there was the adults, checking if the new creatures were dangerous or not rather then being overly curious like the adolescents were.

Eventually they reached what would be their new homes, a small village by the forest and a small village by the mountains.

And so Kokopelli had become inhabited by humans, and that was only the beginning...

Welcome to Kokopelli, a BC shop that focuses around foxes who live on an island once only mentioned in myths. Now the only (known) safe haven left in a post apocalyptic Earth- Kokopelli is being settled by humans.

• Begging, whining and harassment will not be tolerated.
• Obey Gaia's ToS and the Breedables Forum rules and guidelines.
• Roleplaying is not required - but it is encouraged!
• Stealing anything will not be tolerated.
• Please avoid page-stretching and having huge quote trees.
• Foxes must have names with natural themes- things they have seen. Eg. Snowfoot rather than Sam. See post below for more information.





Can I have a free fox? // Unless we have a free event, no. But keep a look out for giveaways.
Can same-sex pairs have babies? // Unfortunately not together, but there are other ways they can become mommies or daddies.

* To colour as many foxes you would like - No minimum or maximum required at the moment, a number needed may be established once we know how many colourists we have and get in a routine
* Contribute 1 free pet per month for giveaways/free raffles

* Colorists may color one custom pet for themselves - further free personal pets can be organised if wanted

To apply, please colour at least two Kokopelli foxes- these must be from at least two different colour types. You can colour a pet and an arctic, you can colour two pets and a forest etc.

Also; to make sure you understand the idea behind the shop, please name the type of fox it is (Forest, Pet etc) and name them.

Tiny Bird Islands
A collection of small islands, known for the small birds that populate the area. No constructed human civilisation is present here, some humans do travel to this area for camping trips and nature walks, but that is the most. It is a short canoe trip across the water, but is accessible by land animals at the shortest and shallowest point- but only by the strongest swimmers at the right time of day. Many animals have made the trip across only to be stuck for a short time after a change of tide.

Snow Mountain
The tallest point in the area, these mountains are topped with snow that drifts down to the surrounding areas. Arctic foxes are commonly found in this area. In the hottest days, some of the fresh white snow melts to supply fresh water to most of the animals. Very few humans visit this area, only if food or water supplies are at their lowest.

Pointed Mountains
While not as tall as Snow Mountain, Pointed Mountains on the coldest days of the year can be finely dusted with snow. Also home to Arctic foxes, the area is wild and unforgiving- with sharp cliffs and the ever present danger of predators. Very little human activity, only the most foolish, most desperate or most daring attempt to travel this area.

Abandoned Island
Abandoned Island was evacuated by both humans and animals after the area lost all it's nutrients and most vegetation died. Now inhabited by outcasts and the most disliked of the animal species, only those who are accepted no where else live here.

Tall Pine Forest
Home to the Forest Foxes, Tall Pine Forest is the most significant of the forests. Home to most of the animals, it is an area of lush vegetation and trees older than the human's civilisations. Most of the Human's hunting occurs here and is a fairly dangerous area for the more desirable prey.

Lost Islands
The Lost Islands were once explored and mapped by explorers, who have since died. A fire wiped out the only copy of the maps, which was a quiet unfortunate incident. Perhaps it may be explored later, who knows? No foxes or humans are known to live here.

Naming
Foxes, when naming their kits- often take inspiration from the world around them and their family.
Pet foxes however, have been given their true name by their mother and then their pet name by their owners. While a pet fox is never truely domesticated, they will respond to their pet name if owned by humans.

Colouring
All foxes have natural colourings, but are separated into three main groups;
Forest, Arctic and Plains. The forest foxes naturally contain browns, Arctic have silvers and greys and Plains often have golds and reds- all designed to fit into their environment. On occasion, crossbreeds can occur, mainly on the boundaries of the changing landscapes. They can contain a mix of the typical colours. Pet foxes, reared by humans and bred to contain specific traits, can often have colours which are rarer or non-existant in wild-born foxes.
