Hello everyone! Welcome to the interest thread. This is going to be a shop based on the Natsume Harvest Moon series - don't know what that is? Read on!

Harvest Moon is a farming game series where you can become a farmer, rancher or fisherman along with various other activities like mining, foraging and finding the love of your life! There are festivals, events and of course lots of drama-filled plots!

In this shop you'll be able to create your character, choose a life-path for them and have lots of fun in the quaint island town.

Once on Avian Island, a small village lived in harmony. They had never been bothered by anyone, but after several years of peace, the island was invaded by pirates! The pirates had found an old map that indicated treasure was buried on the island long ago. Since people had settled there in their small village, the pirates knew it wouldn't be easy to get the treasure all for themselves. There was also the annoyance of the islands supposedly having some powerful creatures protecting it. These pirates were more clever than most though and disguised themselves as islanders to learn more about the people and their legends. They learned that the two powerful beings were a Goddess and a Harvest King. They knew they wouldn't be able to trick the Goddess since she could see into any ordinary person's heart, but the Harvest King was less in tune with the intentions of human hearts and they knew he could be easily tricked. Since the pirates wanted the treasure, they started intercepting the island's shipments, hoping everyone would leave and also attacking the village in small spurts. The pirate's plan was starting to work and the island was growing less and less prosperous. The soil was bad and the crops were small. The Goddess weakened with every passing day and there wasn't much she could do against the pirates without the help of the Harvest King - she had no idea what had happened to him - he had just disappeared one day. Finally, with the last of her strength, she cast a mist around the island, hoping to deter the pirates from getting more of the shipments so that more people could settle on the island and work the land again. Then she disappeared.

Duties: Make character art and possibly items! (Pretty self explanatory I think?)

Shop Helpers

Duties: Assist Kiro with records and updates involving tasks such as keeping lists and tallies, managing threads, stocking shop and character inventories, and preparing for season to season transitions.

Not currently hiring:

Duties: Help Kiro flesh out ideas for the storyline of the shop. She has lots of ideas of where the main story will go, but doesn't always have the time to write it all out. New ideas are also encouraged! You'll also be coming up with mini-side plots to go along with the META.

Duties: Run whatever shop you receive, and play the character given. This won't really be a main character - really they're NPC's - but you'll be the one playing them to help move the META along and sell items, credit them to journals etc. (That means no heart meter, no marriage, no babies etc.) You should also have "shop hours" where you will be live in your shop RPing when people make their purchases. Most of these characters will already have vague personalities that you need to stick to. If you have any ideas for the NPC feel free to share them!

Please say in your application which NPC you're applying for. If you would like to play more than one, go ahead and apply for more than one!

Receptionist for Medical Clinic - Very old man. Asian? Very nice, friendly, always smiling. The kind of grandpa you just want to pinch his cheeks.
Waitress for Bar - Woman in her 50's - doesn't take s**t. (Kind of a tough love lady)
Sommolier - Originally from France. Uppity but kind. Picture Joe from Masterchef only French instead of italian.
Brewer - Bigger dude (tall, brawny, thick) with a beard - Dovelybird
Bed and Breakfast Owner - Very kind older lady. 80's
Tea House Owner - There's a WIP of him on the front page! He's a quiet man.
Farm Family - 2 married Women with a little girl (who looks an awful lot like the brewer NPC) and an adopted teen son.
Orchards Keeper - Spanish looking man mid 40's very strong and weathered looking.
Ranch Family - Asian man, black woman with braided hair, 3 children of varying ages.
Poultry Farm Family - Man with a teenage daughter.
Carpenter - Very friendly and boisterous woman with dark hair in a ponytail who laughs very loudly. - X Moon Fighter X
General Store Owner - Weird older man who tells you too many stories and doesn't let you leave. Socially awkward.
Blacksmith - Big butch woman with strawberry blonde hair.
Priestess - Woman in her mid 30's.

How it Works

In the Harvest Moon universe, your character will have some guidelines to follow. Each character will start off with a wardrobe they bring from home, a small amount of furniture, and a random amount of gold.

Your character can pretty much do whatever they want - but will they have the stamina for it? Each character will start off with the same amount of stamina that replenishes completely each day or by different amounts from eating food. Each time your character reaches a new stage, they will receive more stamina - and there might be other ways to permanently increase your stamina ninja There will be a chart of what actions use what amount of stamina once we have a thread in the B/C section proper!

There will be plenty to do on the island as well! Festivals and events, META plots, side plots, mining, fishing, foraging, farming, ranching, cooking, RPing etc. If you've played the Harvest Moon series before, you know that festivals are a pretty big part of the town. We tried to incorporate as many as we could without overloading each season. Here's a sneak peek at Summer:

There are 4 seasons - Spring, Summer, Autumn and Winter. Each season has 30 days that correspond to a longer time period of 3 months in real life. (For instance summer starts June 1st and lasts until August 31st.)

When the main calendar is finished being set up in the guild, if there is a special event on a certain day, you will be able to click on that day and be re-directed to the event! In the case of birthdays, you'll be re-directed to that persons journal or shop.

Just like in the Harvest Moon games, relationships are an essential part of progressing both your character and META. Having good relationships with lots of people will be in your favor! Also like harvest moon, there will be a heart meter for you to be able to tell just how well your character knows and gets along with another. There will be guidelines on how to move up heart levels once we have the guild and main thread all straightened out!

We're also working on a system to have "heart events" where if a character reaches a new heart level with someone, something special happens!
