Story so Far:
By Shirou, Shanra and Amanda
Long ago, before man came to exist, animals roamed the land. It was a magical time. Among these animals, were the bears. As fate would have it, there came a time when snow and ice covered the land, and as the months passed, it simply did not end.
Legend says it all started with the birth of a small cub, completely colorless. As the seasons passed, more of these white-coated cubs were born. Before long, the only bears alive were white, like the first white cub, and blended in with their new, white world.
One day, the leaders of each bear tribe went to the cave of the elder shaman bear, who was known as Saisho, with their concerns.
“We are so numerous now, that we have difficulty telling each other apart. We have come to ask if there is something you can do to make us more unique?”
Saisho could see their dilemma, and told them he would work on a new charm and summon them when he had found a solution.
For weeks Saisho pondered their dilemma in his cave. As he drifted off to sleep one night, a dream came to him. Upon waking, he knew instinctively what it was he had to do. Gathering the necessary items, he went about preparing the new charm.
When he felt the charm was perfected, he called to the bears to return to him. He handed each bear a bottle, and instructed them to drink some of the potion inside, but not all of it. It did not take long for the potion to take effect, and the bears stood looking at each other in awe. Their fur had changed from stark white, to new colors and patterns, no two of them alike. It took awhile for them to adjust to all these new hues and patterns on each other, but in time they grew to love their unique coats, and the potions became an essential piece of each bears life.
The potion also gave a small population of bears magical abilities. These few bears trained under Saisho, learning his ways. Through much devotion, Saisho and his apprentices eventually managed to restore the natural progression of the seasons.
