And in case anyone is inspired to try a digital painting piece of their own, here is a little walkthrough of the process I took [note, I really know nothing about painting - never did traditional painting - and I never tried a hardcore digital painting before - I just smudged things up when I was younger xD! Other than that I just have a plethora of tips I read/saw/observed in the back of my head for the most part]:

Underlining sketch <---- doesn't need to be perfect by any means, you just need a rough block on where things should roughly go.

Basic colorblocks<---- get a feel of the palette you're trying to use, does not need to be perfectly sculpted because you can do that as you add details. Clearly since I'm new at this - my blocks aren't as precise as someone who digital paints all the time oAo...

Sculpting Skin<---- start to sculpt your skin. Use a variety of colors: Red, purple, blues, cream and browns. Don't use things like brown, greys, peach and then just use a darker color of those same colors. That makes your painting more like a lineless, soft cell shaded drawing, rather than a digital painting.

Sculpting details<----- start sculpting features - rendering eyes, lips, ears.

Sculpting face - finished hair details<---- sharped the face and gave it form and added more color everywhere as I saw fit. Also fixed some anatomy errors using a tool called liquify in photoshop. It allows you to smudge and tweak digital paintings. [is also what magazines use to photoshop their models]
