nah it's not that big razz i have an inch, if you go bigger though i recommend stopping at 2 inches if you ever get to that size >.< currently i'm working as a part time body modification artist and after 2 inches the cartilage on your lobe gets really thin and normally rips >.< i've had multiple people come into the shop freaking out about their ear ripping, it's gross lol

lol im not going that big cos i dont want my ears smelling bad

well the reason your ears would smell bad it because of the acrylic/plastic in the gauges you use to stretch your ears, if you buy metal or glass plugs they don't smell at all, but i find those plugs are a little heavy so i recommend kaossoftwear, you can google it, they use silicone for their plugs which are pretty durable, light, and your ears won't smell (: they sell their jewelry in hot topic and spencers among other places

lol i am wearing kaossoftwear lol but i prefer buddah plugs and wooden ones

i love kaossoftwear lol, and i ordered a nice pair of glass fish eye plugs from buddah plugs aand they broke like in the 3rd week, but it was my fault for leaving them in at a show and i was in the pits >.< lol

thats happened to my older brother's wife neutral its always sad when glass plugs or spirals break

yeah especially since they're usually expensive :/
