You'd do better, depending on how many customers are available, opening up your own gunsmith operation, and doing mail order firearms to start rather than ******** with where you are. His potential for growth is severely limited based on bad business practices.

He doesnt' care about it, and he's really got no reason to. Between this and his sattelite store, and pulling crap like I mentioned (BTW, that sort of thing is common especially with the old boys networks around here) he would he? He's sitting pretty and has only grown fatter.

I'd hate to think what he'd try on me if I did open up and go into business for myself....

That would really depend on how many gunsmiths he has, how good your work and reputation for the work you do is known in the area, and how much he charges for transfers and such within the market from those that order their firearms online.
I order online most of the time because I save significant amounts of money that way, compared to paying full price in store.
