Well, it seems I've retroactively become responsible for 25,000 years of history, so I figured I should get to oppressin' folks and whatnot.

reading through everyone's post, i can humbly say that I am not as well versed as you all seem. however, if you are aware of congress's actions and that the president is not solely to blame, what are you trying to do in your community to change it. it seems pointless to discuss and do nothing...
Perverse incentives. See, I'm a law student, and the more complex and overbearing the legal structure is, the more work there is for me and my peers. Small government and substantive justice are directly adverse to my long-term financial interests.

bah, i can't believe you just said that. but then again, this type of thinking further solidifies an unfortunate notion that the majority of americans and i would venture to say the human race is collectively made up of selfish persons who could give a rat's a** about aiding the common good. but at least you admit to your cardinal sin.

Were I forced to choose, I'd easily prefer this world be full to the brim with the honestly selfish instead of the impotently virtuous.

My cardinal sin is making sure I have food on the table, and a roof over my head? Well, ******** me then. I'm going to sin this s**t up.

It's possible, but I don't grant it a high degree of likelihood. It seems more likely that nobody used nukes because it always seemed too drastic, regardless of the relative numbers of nukes involved.

in our int. law class we had a discussion on this alone, with almost everybody trying to lump nukes in with dum-dum and landmines (I tend to be conservative in this class). To me, a nuke should be used (baring a tactical nuke being developed) solely when the existence of your state is in complete danger, as it literally destroys the other state
Well, could, in theory, by damaging and poisoning a capital city, say.

Or if you nuked Liechtenstein, I guess that'd work. But who'd do that?

oh, we assume one nuke isn't used...
all are

Well, you said "a nuke." Tsar Bomba might do a hefty amount of damage, but even that is mostly localized.

You clearly stay on top of all things law related. I hope you’ve heard of JD Match. If not, you should check them out. I work with them, and they might be the only thing law related that is also easy and free. http://bit.ly/IBusWP
Hey, it's a shill! Love the astroturf, dude, but I'm pretty sure that's against the ToS.
