The amount of processing energy it takes to make red meat into crackers would more profitably be spent on putting those nutrients back in the soil to grow something nutritious. Or you could make sausage, I guess, but there's a moderate risk of the transmission of otherwise rare diseases when you eat the flesh of a too-similar animal.
