Jack Thompson but he's a republican.

However since 2005 there's been numerious democrats and republicans trying to impose morality and "protect" the children by trying to regulate the sales of video games, and always tried to back it up with persudo-scientific "research" (Which is flawed to begin with because you can't get good results when you have an agenda to begin with. In order to do proper research you need to be unbias.)


Time and time again their bills where shot down and deemed unconsitutional......some kept persuing it.....alot of tax dollers where wasted over this since 2005. Some tried to take it to higher courts and where still shot down. They couldn't take no for an answer.

Most of us started to assume it wasn't about morals anymore, it was about just trying to pass "feel good" bills that they know this s**t will get shot down but still do it to "look good for the voters".....this is mostly why I feel most politicans are full of s**t and only care about votes then the publics best intrests. They don't do their research.

Ultmately the issue boils down too it's parents responsibility to monitor what their kids do or see, or what games they play...or hell...what games even enter the front door.

But politicans can't grasp this idea.

Lately alot of them who tried bills are now turning too and endorcing the ESRB which should of been done in the first place....

It was a chance for a snallball effect and games getting unfairely regulated compaired to other forms of media, this is a very valid issue for America because this is the gamers generation...alot of us are growing up having our own families...voting....and the average age of a gamer in America is 30. Basically it's a repeat of comic books and rock and roll, TV and movies...the new "media" is considered alien to the last generation. Them trying to regulate this is unconsitutional for America.

In Vennis they are merely trying to scapegoat their problems.....when they ban this stuff and the problems don't go away...what then?

Yes, I am quite sure that this is an important issue or spoiled american children, but in many other places violent video games just pale in comparison to real violence on the streets. As far as I am concerned parents should do some limiting on their childrens times to play video games because you guys are really falling behind in education. I really have not haqd a problem with kids not being allowed to play violent video games since I was over 18 and did not have to care anymore. You do not have the same rights as adults, and it should be that way, so perhaps you should take that time to learn about just how lucky you are not to be born in soime third world ghetto, and how pampered and prissy you are to think that violence is something you control with a joystick on TV. Some kids do not get to hit reset when things do not go their way.

And in many places politicians want to scape goat the cause of violence onto unreliated mediums forms or things, thinking they are fixing the problems or helping.

As for our education. I also lay blame on our government. Apparently our government tends to often think tax money is better spent on other things then education. Thus our education budget is suffering. I currently live in the top WORST state of education in the whole country...Nevada.
Our govener has slashed our education budget like Freddy Kruger slashing his next teen aged girl.

More like definately, South America has a poor record on that kind of s**t happening, and Chavez seems desperate and egotistical enough to take power by force if he's democratically thrown out of office, it's not if, it's when he becomes a dictator.
