You and the firearm industry should thank evil Obama and his liberal cronies for talking about gun control, as sales are surging.

Screw Wal Mart. They rarely employ an actual gunsmith at their sporting goods section. Support your local brick and mortar gun store instead! mrgreen

That equivocation is absolutely bull.

Children can get away with purchasing mature rated video games through their parents and guardians, because of the relative innocuousness of those games. They can't kill people unless you're really trying.

Guns, on the other hand, are a clear and present danger in the hands of people who are too young to use them. Their built for adults, meant for adults, and almost everyone agrees that children purchasing them is a bad idea.

There is a problem with adults buying mature games for children, then complaining about it. Walmart is trying to fix that problem; they're a family-friendly store, they don't exactly need to sell mature rated games. On top of that, there is a plethora of other venders who'll fill that nitch.

I haven't seen the statistics on children buying guns from Walmart, but I'll bet my a** that it's absurdly low. I've never heard of anyone saying it was Walmart's fault that their kid misused a gun bought form them, and even if someone did, it's a crap complaint and a shifting of blame.

Essentially, mature games are a problem, so they're trying to fix that problem. Guns aren't a problem, so they don't need to fix it.

No. Mature games are not a problem. If video games influenced people, we would all be crawling around dark halls while munching on pills. Mature video games do NOT cause violence. Violence is human nature. It's genetic.

Great job not reading what I typed.

Mature games are a problem in as much as adults buying them for their kids, then realizing that they made a bad decision, the game is way more graphic than they thought, then turning around and blaming the distributor instead of accepting the responsibility of buying their kids the wrong games. THAT is why Walmart is trying to limit the number of mature games they sell, because they're getting blamed for something that isn't their fault.

I never said ANYTHING about violent video games inducing violent tendencies in ANYONE.

Without the 2nd Amendment, there can be no first.

Ah yes, nothing like snuffing out the rights of another because they don't agree with you.

Keep clinging to your guns and religion.

I'd wonder if you were high, but that's too stupid a thing to scrape onto drugs.

When Marcus Brigstocke wrote that joke, that's essentially what the joke was saying; that that IS what people are doing, munching on pills like Pacman.

oh ok let's stop selling mature rated games. While your at it stop selling R rated movies walmart. Oh wait there are songs with violence too lets get rid of cds with mature ratings. Let's do this because some parents are not following that big M or big R warning them not to let kids play.

also you say that you havent seen the statistics on children buying guns from walmart. That is because kids can not buy guns.

you also say "I've never heard of anyone saying it was Walmart's fault that their kid misused a gun bought form them, and even if someone did, it's a crap complaint and a shifting of blame."

emotion_facepalm the same could be said about parents buying video games for their kids. It's a crap complaint and a shifting of blame.

essentially mature games are NOT a problem. the wrong people with guns in their hands is a problem.

Personally, I'd rather that guns were sold by FFL-licensed specialists operating their own establishments than low-paid, poorly trained flunkies of an international retail giant.

Why is everyone blaming everything BUT the people who are holding the guns? It's not Walmart's fault that said person bought the gun. And it's not Walmart's fault that their parents bought the gun and the shooter found them. It's not the gun's fault that it was used to kill innocent people.

Just...mental screening and such would be good. And you'd have to go through rigorous tests to get certified to get the gun... yeah that'd be good for people legally buying the guns. But for illegally purchased guns and getting the gun from relatives there is little the US can do honestly.

It's not the laws nor is it the object who's to blame, it's humans in general.

Everything in a nutshell: Humans suck.
