Public domain? You've officially gone so far left you just circumnavigated yourself.

Point?

At least try and add something to the discussion. Don't just make a small comment on something I've said.

Here's the point, if you didn't catch it. That kind of thinking isn't just communist, it's downright Soviet. Its an autocratic money-glutted government travelling in the disguise of an altruistic social state. Don't blow smoke up my kilt, because I'm too cynical to be fooled by it.

i think he just intelegently called you a communist/socialist

thats the far left extreme, just as far right is reactionary/fascist

But saying that didn't add anything to the discussion. He just commented on what he thought my political orientation was.

I need a secondary concealed pistol

Concealed pistol? Why would you buy a concealed pistol?

Because I put stock in good self defense options.

Yes you do, unless you live in a state like Vermont or Alaska, in which firearms carry is completely unrestricted for both open and concealed.

As for the permit details, check the laws for your state. They vary greatly, as does the price. Mine costs $7.50 a year.

www.packing.org is the best resource for understanding concealed carry laws state-by-state.

No, I'm afraid that isn't communism. If I were promoting communism, I would take all of their money and their business.

I'm just talking about a high degree of socialism.

And also, wouldn't a weapon that isn't concealed work better as a crime deterrent than a concealed weapon? Or is that illegal? I'm not to up-to-date on gun laws.

it can

but not to often, if a guy was going to rob you and saw you were packing he might just shoot you first thing rather than ask to hand over the money

but its all about preferences

I'd say the more likely situation would be that he would find someone else to rob.

There's some debate about this in gun-owning circles. Some believe open carry is a strong visible deterrent. Others, like myself, see an open firearm as an invitation, and a prioritization to a criminal who may want to get the drop on you first, or perhaps try to pull your own pistol against you, like they've been known to do against cops.

Open carry is legal in some states, illegal in others. Once again, www.packing.org goes into great detail on the matter. My home state doesn't explicitly allow open carry, but the Attorney General has issued written opinions supporting the right. It doesn't matter to me, since I don't consider open to be a real option. The only reason I'd want legal open carry is for the possibility that for whatever reason, my firearm becomes visible in public. Its more of a legal CYA kinda thing I guess.
