Partisan, but absolutely correct
But totally useless for achieving the ends of improving economic and living conditions in America.

Why should insurance companies be forced to do business with people who will only cost them money
I didn't say they should. I'm saying that those who are actually in need of healthcare should have choices in healthcare.

So if your panacea of "just leave it to the insurance companies" is leaving so many people uninsured, then let's pass the public option.

Wow. Just wow. Let's get all pissy on a forum because we just suddenly realized that our science that we do for a living is (and has always been) entirely estimated guesswork.
Weren't you previously lecturing others about the importance of taking classes in economics? And now you're calling the entire field (which multiple ED-P regulars have actually devoted time and money to study for as a career) "guesswork"?

BCJ's response to you was fantastic. Economics is a science, but it is neither an exact science (well ... you could dissent) nor is it a hard science. Economists when making predictions or studying trends are creating theories (of which there are well grounded and proven methods) and not conjuring up concrete truths.

BlueCollarJoe
Brothern, don't act all innocent. You started what is tantamount to a gloating thread and accuse someone else of getting pissy?
THAT is one hell of a double standard. Show some sportsmanship. You won. You should have simply PM'ed AL and informed them to send your money, rather than a ******** topic in which to gloat and piss off others.

Tantamount? ... Eh, more or less. I just really, really like being right.

White Wolf and his POV on the other hand is entirely a different subject matter and has nothing to do with me being right or not.

Unless the means to that end include voting out the current majority and replacing it with a new one. Oddly enough, the means I advocate call for just that.

Yes you did. You mentioned denials based on pre-existing conditions.

They do, just like there was choice in banking before Fanni Mae and Freddy Mac came in and ******** over our economy.

At the low, low cost of 1.2 TRILLION dollars? ******** no.

I win at life, even though AL will probably not see this thread.
Yeah, I ******** that up. Give me a little credit, though. I do pay my debts. I also figured out a couple of capital management groups to avoid.

Brothern
Oh definitely. I certainly could have never EVER figured out that the unemployment was going to top 10% without first typing all my numbers into graphical analysis and finding the coefficient of determination. *rolls eyes*

Nope, never. It ain't possible.
Man, you finance ******** are cocky sons of bitches. Keep the hate on the Liberal Arts, where it belongs.

Well by Brothern because it reaffirmed his lucky guessing super powerz. And won him 10k in play money.

By me and every other conservative political junkie because it makes Democrats (deservedly) look bad and improves our chances substantially of stalling legislating and getting our candidates elected.

No one is saying it is a positive. Not even Brothern. Merely that the numbers thrown out by the White House, once again, were bullshit. They're sitting in a burning barn and saying "That lamps pretty warm".
The numbers for unemployment thrown by the White House are bullshit since Bush.

So, where's the news?

Never said they weren't, Res. You know that. What have we done? We went from a white idiot to a black idiot. Wow.

Oh, goodie. Practical difference from a Libertarians perspective? Zilch.

The stimulus was poorly structured to protect employment though. Hell, it was poorly structured overall. It was built more by Rahm than Summers, it was less than half the ideal size by keynesian measures, and it was filled out with pork by Congress. Not exactly a recipe for an ideal stimulus.

On the other hand, 2010 is actually looking really damn good. If it starts making a serious dent in unemployment by elections next year, Republicans might have something more to worry about.

I wouldn't say that Obama is a complete idiot, but alas, still an idiot.

He's a complete idiot, on the very least at par with Bush. He may talk with less of an accent and be able to read a teleprompter with no effort, but that isn't impressive.
He's taking ignorance to sites not seen in a long time.
