sounds like its you whos stupid for coming to that conclusion. of course they have a stockpile of arms, thats what they have all those prison camps for. but regardless, those losers cant even get a missile off the ground, and even if they do figure it out, you'd have to be pretty naive to think that the united states who spends more on military than the other top 9 spenders combined doesnt have a way to shoot a missile down.

Shooting a nuclear missile down? lol

No one can imply it's impossible.

The issue is range of detonation if intercepted.

Why is North Korea so hateful towards the US?

Why are they testing missiles with the admitted intent to nuke us?

What is it they hate?

Uh... hold up... has anybody mentioned this yet?

Son, the US is the only nation who has shot a satellite out of space. Yes, we indeed have the means to kill Ballistic missiles. As for the rest of North Korea's military, they are a minor threat at best if we went to war. Our carrier groups have more air power individually than most nations have in their entire air forces and have more anti-missile defenses than you seem to be aware of. NK is a larger threat to South Korea....who has a larger and more modernized military than the north has and will STILL beat back any invasion BEFORE the US joins in. North Korea's only hope is to do a sucker punch when no one is watching and then beg China to back them before South Korea, the United States, the Japanese Self-Defense Force, and the military of several NATO nations come crashing in on their heads. Even if you falsely believe that North Korea could win a cage match with any one of those nations, they still lack something each of those nation shares: ALLIES.

While I'm as skeptical as anybody else is of theater missile defense, that's not an entirely impossible prospect. The thing you have to do is disable the warhead, not just the delivery vehicle, however. If you prevent it from triggering a critical mass, then it doesn't go off. (As opposed to a sarin gas warhead, where you want the delivery vehicle but not the warhead destroyed.)

What you can't do is practically defend yourself from one side of a thermonuclear exchange with a system that has less than 100% destruction of the warhead in scheduled tests where you control where and when a launch occurs. Especially considering modern MIRV technology, where the warheads could independently launch for different targets even if you successfully attacked the body of an ICBM.

This is of course all academic when it comes to North Korea, as they might, if they stepped up their game a little, threaten Japan. They still lack anywhere near what they'd need in terms of distance and accuracy to directly threaten the US.

There are various types of ballistic missiles that the United States has a combat missile defence system to suite. However nuclear missiles are very different and have a much larger range of destruction. Also, a lot of the anti-missile units that the United States own - or at least DID own are now in Israel. After the threat from Iran & Russia & China, the United States dispatched a quite a large majority of their defence equipment used against missiles to Israel. Not only that, Israel sold some of those defences to China along with releasing secret U.S. documents. Also, I disagree on the air power basis, Iran have an amazing air force which can be compared to the U.S.s air force. As for South Korea. The Korean Republic's total military population barely caps the weak force of 3,839,000. The Democratic People's Republic of Korea's military is 3 times larger than that of South Korea with their total military personnel coming in at 9,495,000. You're telling me that South Korea would be able to fend off an attack from the Democratic Republic with such a small military force? I disagree, it'll just be another repeat of the German invasion of France. Finally, you seem to be under some illusion that NATO are some superior force. I can assure you that is not the case. North Korea are strong allies of China, Iran, Russia and various other nations. The top three being China, Iran & Russia though. These four nations are by far superior than main NATO opposition such as the U.S., the British Empire, & France. These countries can barely manage to defeat small guerilla forces, how on earth do you expect them to defend an attack from an amazing conservative country such as North Korea?

What the OP was referring to was actually firing at a moving nuclear explosive. I mean, sure there's way to disable the missile before it's launch, but it's very difficult to do that afterwards. For example, the below picture shows a direct interception of a ballistic missile...

With the above method, the ballistic missile explodes upon contact with the "Arrow" and falling debris is the only destruction it causes. If that missile was harbouring warheads or any nuclear substance, the outcome would be far more disastrous.

That's the whole idea behind TMD, though. Like I said, I'm skeptical; our tests have had mixed results.

In terms of hazardous waste disposal, sure. If you successfully smash the warhead before its own explosives are triggered (the geometry involved is very precise), then it won't cause a nuclear reaction, which would be a lot worse than bits of demolished missile falling on you.

In short, no. North Korea doesn't have the equipment to move their troops. Neither do they have the equipment to equip there troops to fight against what any other country, especially the US, has to offer.

I also like how you don't realize that the American Navy is bigger than all of the navies. Meaning every other navy in the world put together.

...Where do I start.
Firstly, the United States are the highest in terms of military expenditure. I stated this previously. The United States equipment costs roughly $17,472 per soldier in current military operations. However if we indulge deeper, the majority of these resources are spent on night and thermal scopes, body armour, fire-retardant gloves, knee and elbow pads, tan combat boots, safety glasses, a kevlar helmet along with a standard M4 customisable carbine with close-combat optics. The overall protection such as the body armour's main objective is to protect against shrapnel from ballistic fire. Including the typical Islam-extremists PMN land mines. Being confronted by an actual military force such as North Korea, many things change. The United States are equipped to combat Islamic extremist soldiers, and that is where the military expenditure is being spent. Considering the above, your attempt to undermine North Korea's threat has failed

Now moving along to "North Korea doesn't have the equipment to move their troops. Neither do they have the equipment to equip where troops to fight against what any other country, especially the US, has to offer" - This is false in various aspects. Firstly, the DPRK has over 500 aircraft transportation vehicles. Here is a small list of a few of North Korea's that have been exposed in their inventory...

Ilyushin Il-76
Ilyushin Il-62
Antonov An-24
Antonov An-2
Lisunov Li-2
Mil Mi-26
Mil Mi-8
Mil Mi-2

Secondly, North Korea isn't at war with any 'Islamic extremists' so to say. All of there military funding is based around conflict against other countries. Every soldier in the DPRK's military is equipped to the teeth, very organised & obedient.

Mega Noob

I don't think the IL-76 would amount to more than a very expensive coffin about halfway over the Pacific.

500 as far as we, non-Korean's know of. They could have a million for all we know, 500 is the amount reported by sightings.
Also, the United States only posses two C-144 , eight PZL C-145 Skytruck's, five C-146 in their air-force. That's a total of what...15 in total compared to North Korea's 500. This is not army aircraft's or navy aircraft's, this is the air force. It'll take the U.S. a lot more trips than North Korea, lol.
I never said the US military is SOLELY being equipped to fight Islamic extremists, I said that is where the majority of the military expenditure is going. Pay more attention before you start complaining.

You think the US Air Force has around 15 aircraft for transporting troops?

Do you really?

Also,

Quote:
The United States are equipped to combat Islamic extremist soldiers, and that is where the military expenditure is being spent.

That's a pretty unilateral statement. The US is equipped... You made no mention of percentages or majorities. You made the wholly erroneous statement that US military is geared towards fighting extremist threats. That's ridiculous. You don't need F-22s for that. You don't need nuclear subs. You don't need.... ******** everything that the US has.

Also, I like how you've neglected to mention the navies. Aircraft kind of don't matter when you can't get them in range.

And if you're going to cite logical fallacies, you might want to make sure that they apply. I've argued your points by merit, of which you have none. Making a snide remark after the fact isn't ad hominem. That's just me having fun at the expense of someone incapable of stringing facts and figures together.
