Since Barack Obama has become president, I've been looking into Politics quite a bit taking Political Science classes and watching the news alot, especially since I will be able to vote by the end of the year.

Sometimes when I watch the news I will flip between three news stations, CNN, MSNBC, and Fox News. In my opinon, Fox News is such a HORRIBLE news station! I have liberal views but I still like to see whats on the other side. Fox is supposed to be the republican point of view, but what they broadcast seems far from the truth.

Its turn into an Anti-Obama news station and promoting a split in America. I used to watch the news before and never before has the president been crticized THIS MUCH!

So I'd like to know your opinon. Do you think Fox News is Reliable?

No and nor is it news.
No. Neither are the super-liberal news stations.

Overdiscussed topic is overdiscussed, move on.

As long as the news stations remain shitty, they will keep being talked about.

If only they weren't endorsed by political parties and actually reported news.

No, I mean that this is about the twentieth thread about this in the forum within the last 6 months.

Which is annoying.

And I know, right? But that's PoV bias, it always exists.
I believe there are like two people who still defends Fox News' reliability on the entire ED, one of them is strung out on drugs and usually trolling, and the other is a MPD suffering Catholic and probably a senior citizen.

I would suggest getting news from sources that aren't state-side. While there are always going to be political interests at some level or another, at least they don't necessarily have to be very involved in your politics. I generally look at CBC and BBC when I want news about the states, and actual American stations when I've had a bad day and need a pick-me-up.

When you get down to it, I still say Fox is the worst. MSNBC is very often trash, but I've never suspected that it gets its talking points directly from an administration. We know that this is not true in the case of Fox News.

When I took my Political Science class all I watched was BBC. Alot of important things are happening in the world and I wish America being the super power that it is had a news station like it. I'm tired of hearing their accents! rofl

But anyway with the Shirley Sherrod case, they definantly blew it out of proportion which pressured her bosses to fire her, and then when the whole tape was revealed, they just point fingers. I'm from New York where its fairly liberal so most of us see Fox as a piece of s**t. But I can't imagine in more republican areas like Texas and Arizona and how they take this.
Fox News has a liberal bias and should not be trusted. Only listen to the WTO.

I'd say a lot of blame falls on the administration there. What bothers me most about what happened with Sherrod is that the White House is a very powerful institution, possessed of many branches and agencies. There is no reason at all why the White House should feel so much at the mercy of public opinion that it can't step lightly during a situation like this. It is the job of networks like Fox News and CNN to howl and act like alarmists or ideologues in order to attract viewers and the ratings they hold so dear, but is it not supposed to be the stance of the administration to be calm, cool, and rational in its dealing with every issue that comes up? It's little missteps like this that turn into embarrassments for the administration and hurt it where it matters.

An organization built based on neo-liberal principles with the stated aim of liberalizing international trade? Your trolling doesn't even make sense...

You're kidding about no other president getting this much grief, right? Bush did, so did Clinton. Both from different networks, obviously. As for the Sherrod case, O'Reilly went off the deep end, but he's a commentator. Fox had a blurb on their web page about it. The following day, they printed the other side of the issue.
But as far as bias? Yeah, FOX is definitely biased, as is every other source of news in the country.

I completley agree that they were stupid for firing her and for not investigating this in the first place. Theres no excuse for what they did.

But that doesn't say I can't also blame the source for what happened. The man whom it came from, and the news station(s) that blew it out of proportion that got the woman fired.

Politics is a dirty game. In 2012 I'm gonna vote for Obama...Lol I can see it now Republicans are gonna blame the apocalypse on him

They are the only ones keeping us from spiraling into the same living conditions as the rest of the world. We owe them our full trust.
