This guy's a Major, he's a psychiatrist, and a recent convert to Islam, and apparently near videogame duel-wielding accuracy with handguns?

How recent a convert are we talking?

I'm going with Joe on this one: That's just too many kills for a guy with two handguns on a military base.

Irony kills apparently.

And I got 100 saying the guy of the next possible Muslim witch hunt is a Sikh taxi driver.

Will this shooting touch off a new backlash against Muslims by Americans? And why did it happen in the first place?

And I made that comment because you pranced over the probability that he was a douche before converting to Islam, meaning that the religion has nothing to do with him doing this.

While I am indifferent to your desire to stick a phallus down the guy's throat, I do not know why you have to go out of your way to insult the guy's religion.
I'm pretty sure the majority of the Muslims in the world are not going, "Woot Woot (^o^)/", but instead are thinking, "Oh s**t, who is going to be attacked next" or specifically in the U.S., "********, better go into hiding again like post 911."
Insulting his religion means that you are singling him out and attacking him for his religion, instead of attacking him because he was an a*****e who decided to shoot people.
If this attack happens to be because of the religion, then I have to say not only is an a*****e, but apparently he is mentally ill as well, because if he got the message, "God commands you to kill innocent people", out of somewhere, that's not the religion talking, that's his schizophrenia.

As for body counts, if there is a mass-deployment activity, there can easily be large numbers of people gathered together to do these appointments as a unit, and not individually. Shooting two handguns into the center of a mass of people can produce a lot of casualties if it was say something company-sized and crowded into a relatively small area like an auditorium or lined up in corridors for a briefing.
