I doubt it was PTSD unless it does come out that it was only one shooter but it seems they have eye witnesses of more then one, but you never know.

Is it not possible for multiple sufferers of PTSD to take stuff out together? I mean, like I said, just a guess but I don't think it's a numbers game.

Possibility that this is political is pretty strong, Disa. I'd change the title. Too vague and hard to determine if it is a worthy topic with the current title. Seeing as it was you that started it, I wanted to read it.

I would change the title if I knew how. Heh, I don't usually make threads.

Should be able to to just click "edit" and then mess around with the title.

Just click "edit" on your first post, and you'll see that you can edit your topic name. If you're competent enough that is.

Ya, right. I doubt PTSD. More like "revenge on the infidels!"

Yeah it's possible, but they are probably not all going to have episodes at once. Trust me I know a lot about PTSD. Plus this

I'm more interested right now in these other two soldiers taken into custody. It hasn't been confirmed yet if they're accomplices.

A major in the Army suddenly deciding that he's going to get "revenge on the infidels?" Sorry, I think there's more to it than that even if it's not PTSD. The article says he was going to deploy to Iraq (I assume his first deployment.)

Sounds too coordinated to be PTSD, Liz. I've heard reports of four to five shooters, and this type attack isn't going to be that random and successful if PTSD. This is planned.
Note also, there was a Texas Congressman on the location at the time of this attack.
Just speculation at this time, but...I'd wager a letter this is a planned attack, not some ******** incident.

A major is nothing to laugh at. High enough to get a lot of intel, depending on job position, but low enough to stay below some of the radars.

Yeah, I guess I should clarify that this might not necessarily be episodic but rather something chronic (like depression or some sort of frustration) that the shooters thought couldn't be remedied peacefully. Some Major going nuts pre-deployment doesn't really meet the "P" part of PTSD, though.

According to the CO at Fort Hood, all the deaths took place at the soldier readiness center in the fort, where soldiers receive final medical check-ups and treatments before deployment. It seems unlikely that this is related to a visiting congressman.

He could have been just tired of fighting in Iraq and out of his frustration, sympathized with the bad guys.

"Better I kill them here than have them die there"?
