The point of the picture is not to say that Obama has literally whipped out a magic marker and edited out portions of the Constitution.

True, it's a funny thing though about Article II. The style of economic system Paul proposes is not sustainable in the modern global economy. He proposes eliminating government departments that provide jobs and services, regulate public goods for the maximum economic benefit, keep our workforce competitive internationally, and manage our internal natural resources. He also proposes repealing legislation that was put in place to prevent a company from becoming the next Enron, which is a bad idea, given that we know that if there's a way to exploit the securities market, somebody will sacrifice the countries long-term financial stability for short-term financial gain.

Essentially, his plan would probably destroy our economy, cause market crashes, lead to a tragedy of the commons over the use of our resources, and ruin our global competitiveness.

Which is bad, but not anywhere near as bad as the consequences of Paul's plan. Debt is something we can deal with. Countries deal with massive deficits all the time. Destroying our ability to make payments on those deficits is a different matter. It would be that debt ceiling thing all over again, except much worse.
