Could it work under with the right leader? Like not a dictator and only one party. I would like to try it out but then again, The only thing I rule is my self and I dont think I could fight wars with only me or make a economy. So discuss away.

Definitely with emerging technology. Robotic labor can take care of the need for a working class. And genetic engineering can correct the problem with any rulers/abuse for power. Even without that there are ways to get closer to it, or make sure it works better. I mean with enough education, organization of the economy, and democratic checks you can greatly reduce the strain of work and check political power.

If you genetically engineered humans for more passive or moralistic tendencies you wouldn't need a state like you have today. The only reason for arguing for a state at that point is under extreme cases of hypothetical threat- alien invaders or some guy turning into a serial killer at random or a zombie outbreak or whatever.
