Disa and AnarchoPhiliac make me feel depressed when they get aggressive on the forums. Anyone who views America in a negative light makes me depressed. I just want to be accepted, not hated.

I do think that many Canadians and foreigners view Americans as inferior and second class.

A good BA with all the trimmings in Canada will set you back anywhere from $30,000 to $75,000 with no scholarships. That's the entire degree including textbooks (but not dorms or a meal plan).

It's not as great as some places in Europe where they're freakin' free but it's a hell of a lot better than having to take out a goddamn mortgage to pay for the education I needed to get a decent job in the first place.

It's the little things like that, there are many more, that make the difference. There are some things America has that I think are ******** rad, but I wouldn't ever want to live there.

Those costs are about the same as here, unless you attempt to attend one of the 'big' schools that every single state has at least one of.
You go to the smaller colleges? Costs are significantly lower. It's like buying jeans. Do you want the name brand or do you want the generic?
Canada is awesome! They have more civil liberties then the US and more privacy from the government. I am seriously considering immigrating to Canada after I graduate.

Depends on what you want to do. Some non "name brand" colleges just won't be up to snuff in terms of rigor and networking (which, like it or not, is very handy when it comes to post graduate applications.) I can appreciate cost considerations (believe me) but the differences from university to university are not as superficial as the differences between kinds of clothing.

Yeah, but yearly tuition for the big name universities in Canada such as University of Toronto, Waterloo, or McGill are around 7k max and 10k to 15k with boarding and books. On the other hand, you have to pay up to 50k (with boarding included) per year in various instances to go to top schools in America.

That's the difference Tarquin was speaking of.

Yeah, but yearly tuition for the big name universities in Canada such as University of Toronto, Waterloo, or McGill are around 8k max. On the other hand, you have to pay up to 50k per year in various instances to go to top schools in America.

That is and isn't true. My college Westfield State only costs 12k a year and is considered the top school in the state based on the value of education compared to the price you pay for school. Yes my school beat out Harvard, MIT, Williams, and Amherst. Which makes me lol hardcore.

In terms of bargain, not quality of education.

Honestly it is a good school I am getting a pretty good education. In my opinion it has an excellent teaching preparation program. I mean granted it is no Harvard, MIT, Williams, or Amherst but for 1/4 of the cost it provides a excellent education. Most of the people who I knew who graduated from the teacher program have not had a problem finding jobs as teachers. Hell we get scouted by public schools across the country.

I go to one of the schools Anarcho mentionned and pay approximately 6-7k in tuition for two terms. Of course I'm spreading my second year to three terms (that's right Anarcho, no B-town for me this summer!) so it's more like 8k.

Of course, thanks to my specialization, I may not spend much in terms of textbooks, but more in design supplies, and ******** professional printing costs.
