I find it amusing how users think Anonymous is trying to protect the Internet. Anonymous has done nothing but harm the Internet and it's users.

So what has Anonymous does recently?
Extortion.
Bullying individuals to the point they kill themselves.
Attacking large corporations, harming everyone that relies on their services.
Stealing large amounts of personal data and releasing it to the public, potentially endangering people.
Stealing money from credit cards.
Distributing illegal material; child pornography etc.
Attacking the websites of FBI and SOCA, organisations that protect people from serious harm.
Attacking users who speak out against them.

Probably the most heinous of the listed here in my opinion as it goes against their supposed prime directive.

Normally, i think, a law like this wouldn't be a big deal. However, with the rise of the internet and anonymous, I believe people are more concerned about preserving their anonymity. When anonymous go out and protest, they wear guy fawkes masks as a show of solidarity and because it's a fundamental belief of anonymous that faces, race, gender etc all do not matter. We're all part of the human race and are therefore all anonymous. By banning the wearing of masks, it severely hinders the message that is sent out by anonymous when they protest IRL.

Good, considering their message.

And a belief that race, gender don't matter? *SNORT* Yeaaaa, sure, that totally explains their bashing of "niggers" and "cumdumpsters" on a daily basis, donnit?

Hell, look at Cameron here; he's a class A bigot who thinks I need to be put to death for my sexuality.

Anonymous, IMO, has changed in recent months with regards to their image. Yes I won't deny that they originated from 4chan and were basically the "scum" of the internet. But lately I find that they've been fighting more and more for people's rights and stuff which is something that I actually do agree with and admire considering our own politicians are working towards taking those rights away from us. We need a banner to fight as one under and if it's anonymous then so be it.

If anyone refuses to show their face, I don't want to hear what they have to say and I damn well don't want them thinking they are 'fighting for me'.
Nor do I want a nameless group of shitbags that has a penchant for hate, as well as attacking companies that really have absolutely nothing to do with some problems. They're worthless and I hope they all get at least six months of a** stretching in prison at some time in their life.

Don't forget that dickhead stunt they pulled on the Oakland police, releasing personal information about them and their families (whom even if you had a problem with the cops, what the hell did their families have to do with anything?).

******** that s**t. They're fine with protecting the rights of people who happen to agree with them, but should you express a position they don't like? We'll bring down your websites and steal your credit card information or spread your family's addresses and other personal information out to the public. Sometimes they go after douchebags, yes, but that doesn't preclude them from being douchebags themselves.

If you really can't see the stupidity in throwing your support behind a group of assholes just cause they currently happen to be targeting another group of assholes, just look at the last... oh, 50 years of US foreign policy. Maybe ask Afghanistan how they're enjoying the Taliban. And because I'm sure it's coming, no I'm not saying anonymous is as bad as the Taliban, just an example of where that kind of "enemy of my enemy" thinking leads.
I think I'd like to take a moment to point out, that I'm in no way related to, nor supportive of the guys with computers who think that they're internet superheroes. I just thought it was a clever name. 3nodding

Very clever name. That, and you seem to be able to show the ability to think and rationalize. Anonymous just seems to go off like a three year old who dropped their ice cream.

My oppinion of Anonymous, i dont identify with them nor do i support them. Mostly becuase they dont have eny goals out side of wanting to be faceless and unidentafyable. Out side of that, they only protest things that they all think would be fun to protest ageanst. So while ther are times when im situationaly on the same side as Annon, i dont support them.

As for that law. Meh, i never take the word of some one covering ther face seriusly to begin with. Thus i have the greatest respect for the likes of Marten Luther King Jr. who didnt hide behind a mask, took the jail time with pride, and knew of, and took the freaken risks. Unlike the majority of Annon who hide behind the masks in order to avoid being identafied, let alone being arrested, so they could avoid the general risks of protesting in general! But i also personaly dont think that a law like that isnt nessisary becuase as i said, i dont take people who wear masks when they rage ageanst whatever seriusly.
If your opinion is so weak you are not willing to associate your face with it, then your protest is worth nothing more than a web petition which uses internet nicknames. Show your face or stay home. Even the OWS wussbags showed their faces.

The whole point of protesting is to have your face seen and your voice heard.

No one cares about what a faceless rabble has to say.

The point of being a faceless rabble is so that a*****e groups like the Church of Scientology can't get a good look at your face, find out your identity, and then make your life hell by singling you out and harassing you in various ways.

Shame on Vancouver for banning masks during protests. People are less likely to protest if you can see their face. 5 years? I mean really. That's just stupid. Almost on the same level of RIAA's "You download one of our songs? We're suing you for $500,000!!" kinda stupid.

There's this wonderful thing called anonymity...

Will this bill actually stop people from wearing masks during protests?

The Zen Master says, "We'll see."

If you are afraid of scientology and the 12 of them there are praying to xenu perhaps you do not deserve an opinion.

besides, when the chans went after the scienos their purpose was not to protest their religion but to intimidate and threaten them into giving up being scientologists. they were not the heroes of the story but rather the modern equal of the KKK wearing masks to burn down black churches. they were committing crimes and hiding who they were so they could shoot at scieno buildings without being caught. That is not a protest, that is a criminal trying to protect their anonymity so they can beat people up and shoot people.

Anon doesn't protest. their purpose is just to commit crimes and cause damage. that is what they do. It is like asking bank robbers and the klan to show their faces while committing crimes. I do not blame them for hiding their faces when they commit crimes, i blame idiots anmd ******** likwe you for associating their criminal activity with actual protests.
GunsmithKitten
Awww, does the big bad Internet Hate Machine now have to show it's face when it ventures out in public?

This made me smile a bit inside. One of the best ways to fight Anonymous is to remind these bigoted asshats that they do have an identity and they aren't some faceless Borg/Stroogg/whatever.

I did find it amusing when i ripped off the cheezy anon fanbois guy fawkes mask at the last convention. It was fun playing keep away with the little white boi who threatened to come back and get me. I am the giant drag queen wandering around AL in a frilly read dress. like I am going to fear a basement dwelling white boy who is afraid to show his face at an anime con. He is god damned lucky I did not jam his plastic mask straight u[p his tight whiteboi a** and kick him across the university campus.

Though i do have to admit i did give his mask back to him. No one at an anime convention wants to see that many oozing zits. Some of them need masks because lack of sunshine, basement humidity, and puberty were not nice to them.

BTW if you do not like the insults stop being a ******** jerkoff and sucking the c**k of anon. AQnonymous c**k is how you spread STDs you daft little t**t.
