My main interest in a continued Obama Presidency at this point is that it would be a kick in the teeth to the sideshow that the Republicans offered as an alternative.

No one's looking forward to his second term, as in the definition that has severe positive connotations. We accept it, grudgingly. As with any election where the result is already decided and the sitting president is bought but the alternative is even shittier.

Well, not really, Obama's policies do not do much for me. The economy remains lousy despite the record amounts of money printing and stimulus spent. High gas prices are not helping matters, and promoting green projects that work poorly like algae oil is not a step in the right direction.

But with that, I did see that Obama has a big fan in reporter Chris Mathews. He still gets a thrill up his leg seeing the President.

It matters if you want the country to move forward instead of backwards... I'd rather keep moving forwards towards the future where things keep getting better then go back to the past when all of America was suffering under the "The Great Depression". The president sets the direction for the nation.
