It could be argued Obama is a government n****r in the same sense Patti Smith was a rock n' roll n****r. But to use the word as a term of endearment based on supposed unique qualities of his falls short when you realize his most prominent difference from that there gaggle of traditional presidents is the color of his skin. No, what I think is he casually refers to Obama as "the n****r" when in discreet assembly with his fellow Dominionists.

mm. I'm more referring to the extent of the backlash. While racial slurs are still heavily stigmatised here, language is a lot more 'free flowing'. There's always a little cultural shock when in the USA someone says a word and the whole room stops and stares, metaphorically speaking.

No. A slip is a slip and I don't think the larger media sources wanted to get into a he said / they said argument.

Pretty much this. Our media didn't cover it. Our media coverage of the GOP race generally sits around curious light mocking of Santorum and calling Romney as likely winner again and again every time a new state declares either way. There was also one point two months ago where they did a special on the Ron Paul strategy.

Well, baby, you conservatives made it chic' to dive into one's bigotry and protest any criticism of it as the other side being "politically correct" also, as one conservative writer pointed out. Add in the bleeding over of internet/4chan values to real life behavior, and you reap what you sow.
