Welcome one and all to the Pokemon Rainbow League!
This is a league unlike any you've seen before--
A place where the gyms are based on colors rather than types~

Here you may challenge our league members by following the rules in the post below.
Or you may hang around with us and discuss Pokemon battling strategies & More.
Why not do both? ^_^

Please remember, we are here to battle and discuss Pokemon-
So don't be shy about posting and/or challenging us! We welcome new friends.

We currently have: 6 Open Gyms.
With Pokebank up, gyms have been re-opening for 6th gen, but items can still be an issue, so give us some time.

Thread Rules:

1.) Follow Gaia's TOS, and Don't be Rude, even if you lose a Battle.
2.) Stay on Topic! Not doing so may result in our thread breaking the forum rules.
I do encourage off-topic chatter to get to know one another, but please take it to the off-topic thread.
On-Topic discussion is defined by anything Pokemon Game/Battle related, weekly topics are here to give you ideas.
3.) You may battle with anyone here, you aren't limited to challenging those in the League.
4.) Trading of Pokemon/Items, Breeding Requests, etc are okay as well.
5.) Feel free to discuss anything Pokemon related, even if it isn't this week's topic, anything Pokemon related is welcome.
6.) If you want to exchange links, please PM Magica. You don't have to ask to use the sig banner.
7.) If you want to challenge a leader and they aren't online, you may PM them ONCE.
If they do not reply then assume that they are busy and will get back to you.
And if their gym states that it is currently closed, come back later to check.
8.) If there is a conflict in the thread that is not getting resolved, please PM Magica about it before letting it escalate.
This ensures that we can stay on topic and might help us avoid some misunderstandings.
9.) This is a Drama-Free zone.
Create drama and/or cause thread leaders to receive multiple complaints and we may have to remove you.
10.) Do not quote any of the posts on page 1, and please do not spam.



Battling Rules:

1.) All battling will be done through Wifi on your DS, this is not a RP thread.
2.) Keep voice chat OFF unless both parties agree to keep it on.
3.) You will be disqualified and possibly banned from this thread if you D/C on purpose to avoid a loss.
I am aware that sometimes D/Cs will happen for legitimate reasons, but DON'T do it on purpose.
(It would be wise to avoid battling if you are aware of an upcoming obligation so that you don't need to D/C)
4.) Gyms may do singles or doubles, if they do both, you must specify when you challenge them.
5.) You do NOT have to challenge us in order, like in Pokemon Games. You may request to battle any of us at any time (if we're open).
To challenge the Elite Four, you must have at least five gym badges to issue a challenge.
6.) You may challenge a gym as many times are you like to get the badge, but realize that the leaders may ask you to come back later.
It is common courtesy to wait a little while before a re-match (perhaps a day or at least a few hours).
7.) If you ask for a re-match the leader may switch in other team members of their color to fight you.
8.) Make sure that when you battle a gym leader, they know that it is a GYM battle.
Otherwise they may use their normal teams and it will not count for the badge.
9.) We play under Standard (Lvl 100) Pokemon Battling Rules- this applies to both leaders AND challengers.
If you don't know what that is then I will list the details below:

Evasion Clause
Moves that boost evasion (i.e. Double Team, Minimize, and Acupressure) are not allowed.
Sleep Clause
Two or more Pokémon on a team cannot be asleep at the same time. Self-induce sleep via rest does not activate Sleep Clause.
OHKO Clause
One-Hit KO moves are not allowed.
Species Clause
Two or more of the same Pokémon may not be used on the same team.
Self KO Clause
If both players have only one Pokémon left, moves which KO both the user and the opponent are not allowed (e.g. Explosion, Destiny Bond).
If recoil damage would cause a tie, Self KO Clause does not activate, and the player who last attacked is the winner.
Hax Item Clause
Items that rely solely on luck are not permitted.
(These include: Focus Band, Quick Claw, Brightpowder, Lax Incense, Scope Lens, Kings Rock, Lucky Punch, Razor Claw, Razor Fang, and Stick.)
Endless Battle Clause
Any moveset on any Pokémon that is capable of intentionally causing an endless battle is banned from competitive play.
These include:
A Pokémon may not carry Recycle and hold a Leppa Berry in conjunction with Heal Pulse and Milk Drink, Moonlight, Morning Sun, Recover, Roost, Slack Off, Soft-Boiled, or Wish.
A Pokémon may not hold a Leppa Berry and carry Recycle and Pain Split on its moveset.
A Pokémon may not hold a Leppa Berry and carry Recycle and Fling on its moveset.

The following Pokemon are banned due to having what is considered 'Uber' stats:
Aegislash, Arceus, Blaziken w/Speed Boost, Darkrai, Deoxys-A, Deoxys-D, Dialga, Genesect, Giratina, Giratina-O, Greninja, Groudon, Ho-Oh,
Kyogre, Kyurem-W, Lugia, Mewtwo, Palkia, Rayquaza, Reshiram, Shaymin-S, Xerneas, Yvletal, Zekrom.

The ability Moody is banned

The move Swagger is banned

The items Soul Dew, Blazikenite, Gengarite, Lucarionite, Kangaskhanite, Mawilite, and Salamencite are banned.



Gym Leader / Elite Four Rules:
(This doesn't apply to you unless you're part of the League or thinking of joining)

1.) Your Pokemon MUST match your gym's color theme.
*Journal list* / *GoogleDoc list*
If you are unsure about a Pokemon's color classification, post here or PM Azureokami/Chidor Rain to ask them.
2.) If you see a spot open and want to apply to be a gym leader, PM Azureokami or Chidori Rain
a. To qualify you must have posted often or have been a round for a while.
3.) All leaders must battle with Azureokami, Chidori Rain or Cynda Rosewhip to see if they qualify before they are approved to join.
4.) You may have as many Pokemon as you want and may switch your team members around, as long as they fit your color.
5.) If you plan to go on hiatus for a week or more, PM Azureokami so that she doesn't think you just dropped out.
Generally, any time you wish for your gym to be closed, PM Azureokami or Chidori Rain.
6.) If you disappear for a long period of time and we can't get in touch with you, your spot may be opened up for grabs.
7.) Gym leaders are allowed to challenge each other and try to collect the badges.
In this case the challenger can use any team they want and the leader whose badge is on the line uses their colored team.
