Catch lots of Pokèmon! If you plan on breeding at some point make an effort to capture both genders of any available Pokèmon. Though I recommend doing that AFTER you obtain the Amulet Coin because that will help you rake in the money.

I'll tell you what you do NOT want to do: Do not take any pointers from the anime. No matter how many times you aim for the horn, electric attacks will never harm Ground types.

IT'S DANGEROUS TO GO ALONE! TAKE THIS.

Fire, Rock and Flying types will help you sweep through.

Personally, I never challenge a gym leader unless my pokemon are at least five levels higher than their strongest pokemon.
