The codes set the number to x999. If you don't want that many, you can discard them in your game. You can delete them all at once if you wanted to. The game allows you to do that.

I just want to make my XY trio shiny, that is all. Not using them for anything, just as trophies in my completed livedex- and updating with whatever shiny i don't have.

But yeah, does it break games? Can nintendo find out? collateral damage of using it? Like, If I want to go to a tournament.... Do they scan your catridge? Oh dear!
