.... do not use Tetsuya Nomura's work for a model. D:
ESPECIALLY Kingdom Hearts.
As amazing as he is, and as wonderful as his drawings are... they're absolutely no help at all to you when you're still in the learning process and getting the basics of anatomy down. It reflects badly in your work, and your art suffers.
The reason he can do it is because he's most probably learned the proper way to draw a figure, and stylized off of what he learned. It's what's most plausible. ... doing that will help you.
I agree. ^^Dude... i'm a chick... and secondly I just drew that for fun... I didn't mean to phase anybody by copying someone's work
stare Tetsuya Nomura is the male he is talking about. He is saying that you shouldn't learn from him and that learning how to draw a figure and stylize it is what he did and that you should do the same instead of using his, Tetsuya Nomura's, work as a model. Thanks for the extra clarification. =D
... yeah, that's what I meant. Fanart is all well and good, but learning stylization first is just a breeding-ground for bad habits in whatever realistic work you do. Nomura was just an example, based on what you did. O: I mean, if it was Watanabe or Amano, I'd say the same thing. I'm a bit of a realism-nazi, yes, but... it really does work.
