No, I started from a blank base and worked up from there. The entire thing is modular, with the head being one layer and the torso being another.
For references I used an Iron Man action figure. For the final details I went back and used some of the promotional images. I realise the face seems a little off but it's just the way it would look on a Gaian. I used both a white base and a regular base to get my initial outlines done. Once I was happy with the outline for the part I was doing, I'd make another layer beneath the outline and fill in the color then work from there. I did everything myself. |

Just want a couple of comments when people can give them. I was thinking about doing a band edit/animation with guitars and a singer. Also thought about adding small rotating lights/rolling fog and selling it as a limited. Any thoughts? X_x am I suppose to be looking at it like I am behind the drums or in front |

I didn't add a body because I wanted to make sure the animation was good first before I went any further. ^_^ |

My latest versions of US armed forces personnel.
I've got a Rifleman from the Marines wearing Desert MARPAT with an ACH helmet and Interceptor Body Armor as well as a Rifleman from the Army wearing the same equipment with an ACU camo scheme instead. I've included the older ones for a comparison. Both of the older versions are wearing PASGT gear and some weird digital-ish camo scheme I made a while ago. They're to the left of the current versions.     |

I like the patterns that you used for the digital camo, and the helmets and boots reflect great proportion and use of color. The only thing that looks off is the M-4/M-16A2. The overlay itself is great, but the barrel and gas chamber are too elongated. Those are simple to fix though, and will not compromise the great job you did on everything else. If I'm wrong on the rifle your using, let me know. The design your using on it resembles one of three weapons, and the common of those is the M-4. The kneepads could use a bit of softening/enlarging around the edges as well. But thats my opinion, since the detail for those are to conform to the clothing using elastic, and you did that. It's actually an M16A4. I could probably get it to be a little bit smaller, and like you said it's an easy fix. I'm not sure if I want to change the knee pads, they're supposed to be the ones with a soft back and a hard plastic knee on the front. Like this.
I could probably put a little more orange in the Desert MARPAT, but I rather like it the way it is at the moment. The Marine in the lower corner is holding an M4A1. The one on the right his holding an M14 and the upper two are holding the same M16A4. I'm working on getting a good reference for an M249 SAW. I've got a nice little collection of Avatar sized weapons, now all I have to do is make some more poses. I think you'll agree that they're all a bit stiff at the moment. |
