Welcome to Gaia! ::

Since I draw way too many headshots and it's not good for me. I need to practice my anatomeeee.
This is definitely not my best stuff, but I'd still love some feedback that could push me in the right direction and tell me what I'm doing wrong. Lay it on me!

The head is too big on this one and the torso and stomach look a bit wonky.

Just a sketch for a painting.

Edit: I forgot I had to put a warning in the title for nudity. I'm sorry if I offended anyone.
The women are very nicely done.
Ha nice, and nice signature
The anatomy looks great!

the women look good. the males need longer torsos though.

not bad. you seem to be heading down a good path, just need a bit more work with the finer details on anatomy.
In the first, what I can only guess are scars don't really look like scars. If they are supposed to be, they need to blend into the skin a little more. The same with the collarbones. Just less outlining, I think might work better. And on the back, we should be able to see how it is raised on the profile.
The left side (his right) looks pretty close to what they should, actually.
His nose could use some more careful reworking down at the bottom, the general shape is a little off. It looks like a mix between and European and an African nose. It's going in the right direction, though.

I think the second one is pretty good, other than the sizing, which you seem to already know about. Her foot should probably be a little bigger as well. I think her back actually looks good, it would just be awkward to sit in that position. But it looks feasible.
In reality, we might not be able to see her ribs, especially with a little bit of a belly like she has. But I like the way it looks in the picture. It fits well with the colors. I think it looks a little eerie that way.

I think this third guy is the worst of the bunch. But I might just be comparing it with the more realistic styles you've used, especially in his face. His legs look kind of off. Like we are looking a little bit down on his legs, but the rest is straight on. And it look as if he has extra short thighs. That might be the cause of the former.
His wrist joints look a little wonky. It seems almost like the part under his pinky looks like the bulge under the thumb on the bottom side of the hand. I would expect it to look more bony. Hand reference photos See how in the first one there's a bone under the pinky? This is totally nitpicky, though. I'd worry more about the legs for that one.

This last one I just adore. Her hand might be a little small, with quite thin fingers for being such a big woman, but I love everything else about it.

I do like your coloring and style. It looks good.

If wishing to hone your structure- attend a local figure drawing class.

If not pick up a copy of:

Dynamic Anatomy by: Burne Hogarth

or Bridgemans guide to Anatomy

Those are two of the best references that I can think of.

If any advice that I can offer- focus on the structure and understand the figures structure, think of the bones and muscles under the skin or think of the basic shapes that compose the entire human form. If you can come to understand such- drawing the figure becomes easier and looks more accurate. <3
The last is your strongest. I think it is because in the way you handled it. I can tell that when you were drawing this figure you weren't so distracted by the idea of the body. Instead, you were looking at the body as individual forms making up a larger form. Perhaps this is because its not your typical thin/muscular body. Continue drawing this way. (not necessarily larger people, but looking at the body in the way I just explained).

Thanks, guys! It's weird that my women seem to look a little bit better since I barely ever draw women.

I definitely agree with you about the scars and the nose; the nose looks pretty good halfway into the painting, then I fudged it up. The third one down is definitely my weakest, I couldn't get the arms and legs to look decent.
Thanks so much for all the critique; super helpful! : )

I took a four week figure drawing course, it was so helpful, though I still have a long way to go. I'll see if my community college has any figure drawing classes. Thank you for the tips!

.

I really like drawing bodies that aren't typically thin or muscular ^^ thanks!
Wow, this is the best stuff I've seen from you so far! I'm excited to see the last one finished. You've really gotten a burst of improvement there.
