I drew this one for free 3nodding
Just a tip, but I find that drawing on either a very large canvas (if you have the CPU) or zoomed in at 200-400% zoom allows you to draw much cleaner lineart because all of the hand wobble stays in the larger version. (This usually requires a rough sketch underneath though, so you kind of have a map to follow when you draw huge). Drawing in broader strokes really helps too. Remember, you can always undo/erase the marks that are in the wrong place.

Also, if you find the smooth surface of a tablet kinda weird, try taping a piece of paper to it. I had to do that when I was transitioning from paper to tablet for the first time.

You can also look into using the pen tool for VERY LONG LINES, if you have the full version of photoshop and not elements. A pen tool is basically a vector tool that will draw awesome perfectly straight and curved lines based on the points you specify for it. (Though I'm by no means an expert on this... I only know how to use the tool very crudely and only use it on certain occasions, though even then it saved me a LOT of pain in the a**).

Before you start going wild with downloaded brushes (there are a lot of them everywhere, including deviantart), I actually recommend you explore the default photoshop brushes and their settings. I know it might sound boring, but they actually are all different and suit different purposes better. Especially if you eventually want to sell the things you draw and stuff (like, RL commissions, not necessarily Gaia gold, though that could also potentially become sticky) - some brush makers have restrictions on using their brushes for commercial art, or require you to buy commercial license, and it's really best to know how to work completely without them.

If you cam draw better than a fifth grader and know how to price right, anyone can have an art shop.

As for Photoshop, its really good! I think you might want to add more shadow than youve got. The basic shadows are there like the shadow on the chest) but theres no source of light. A source of light would add light shadows to one side of the body. Take a look at a person in the sunlight and watch how the shadows play on one side of their face.

I love the blur tool. Photoshop ftw!)

Hi guys!
I usually a paper and pencil-type artist. I figured I try using the high-tech photoshop tablet art medium. I only know the basic layering techniques and I am humbled by the difficulty of the medium sweatdrop

anyways, I was wondering if my art is good enough for art shops. What should I add and what other techniques should I learn to be competitive?

I see shadows but very few highlights.
Try out different colors and see what you like, be creative my dear smile

The anatomy is not really bad.pretty good for me.
Try study more about human anatomy and folds.. smile

I'm not into rating. It's a good start. You'll get better at coloring with practice (I'm still learning too), so I think you've got potential.yes seriously! ^^

I hope i will see more art from you smile

this.

i've seen so many good pieces ruined by artists getting lazy and using fancy brushes. maybe it's just me, but when people resort to stamping on things (like those stars and that flower background) rather than painting them, it feels like the artist cheated.
